Not potty training itself, but the word training. I often see it referred to as potty learning. It's not like I'm training them like a dog. And then maybe I am...I do reward with a "treat." But I don't see the huge deal. So if you think referring to it as training is bad, could you share why?

Do people have something against potty training? Katy just completed PT'ing a couple months ago so it was a frequent topic among my IRL mom friends for a while. I never once had a negative comment about the owrd "training." Are you getting the comments from another board?
If you are getting that reaction from MDC, I could kind of see how that board would be against the word "train." But if you are getting it IRL, from a broader profile of moms, I think it's odd that so many would be against the use of that word.

Well most of my friends are crunchy types that put me to shame, so any of them use the word PLing and look at me funny for saying "pt ing".
But I always see it on other message boards.
I'm with jellymankelly. It sounds very uneducated.
