OMG - I can't breathe!

Is anyone else having some issues breathing??

I feel like such a dork because I'll be doing my makeup and getting out of breath!! Right now I'm just sitting at my desk and my heart is pounding faster than normal and I feel like I am always catching my breath!

I know this is normal because of the lack of room inside - but my goodness! Anyone else having these joyous times??

  • Yes - I jog and do lots of exercise and am able to keep it up, but then find just getting off the couch sometimes (we have a very deep couch) or going up the stairs makes me totally breathless.

  • All the time. I feel like it started about a month ago. Doing simple things always leaves me breathless.

Yup, though I did just find out I have low iron, so that may be contributing somewhat to the breathlessness.

  • God, yes. I avoid going upstairs in my house because by the time I get up there I'm huffin and puffin.

  • I walk on our treadmill at a 1.8 speed these days.. Still huffing and puffing.
  • Stairs, ugh.  Worst thing is that our only bathroom is upstairs.

  • We went to a Toledo Mud Hens game last night and had to park 3 blocks away. The distance wasn't the problem, the problem was the fast walkers we were with. I was trying to keep up with them but felt like I couldn't. I ended up with hands on my knees bent over trying to catch my breath!!
  • I seriously get out of breath if I talk for too long. Its ridic.
Yep.  I have 45 minute phone meetings where I do most of the talking and I'm out of breath about half way through!

  • Yup all the time! Stairs are for sure the worst! I walk up them to brush my teeth before bed & have to sit on the toilet to catch my breath first. DH laughs at me every night. I try & avoid them once I come downstairs I'm downstairs for the day lol

  • I get out of breath eating!!!  No room for food, lungs and baby...
  • I've been complaining about this for a few weeks. Before it was if I was walking or moving around. Now if I'm just sitting I suddenly find myself out of breath.  I think its a combination of the twins and my asthma. When I see the OB tomorrow I'm going to have to ask about using my inhaler.

It's hard to believe that in January I could run up eight flights of stairs and barely be out of breath.

Me too! How does one get out of breath just laying down? My husband thinks I'm crazy when I tell him about it.

Word y'all.  My conference calls are kind of a shit show these days. Lots of inappropriate heavy breathing from my end.  Ugh.

  • DH asked me to move my feet over last night.  Moving my feet and my snoogle at the same time was more than I could handle.

  • I kicked my pants off in bed and ran out of breath. It's really not my finest moment. Lol
I don't know why, but this made me burst out laughing. LOL -- literally!!

  • Stairs and DH's walking speed are going to kill me.  I have to keep shouting for him when he gets too far ahead and remind him that I can't breathe all that well right now (so I can't keep up with him).  Summers are normally bad for my asthma and it is just compounding things.

My husband teased and asked how my asthma was if I needed a CPAP for all my "wheezing". He found it funnier than I did

  • I am totally struggling with breathlessness! Getting up from sitting is tricky and honestly sometimes I have to stop and take a breath while chewing food, pathetic? Glad to know I'm not the only one that feels like I'm huffing and puffing constantly!
  • I was talking to a client on the phone and walking across the parking lot only to find myself out of breath and the client wondering if I'm on a treadmill. Walking and talking is hard !

This. I'm usually a really fast walker and DH gets really annoyed that I walk so far ahead of him. Yeah that changed real quick. I'm constantly waddling behind him yelling wait up. He thinks its hilarious and tells me it's pay back. Not funny.

Yep! I have a set of stairs in my apartment, and I try to avoid them as much as possible, because by the time I get to the top I'm winded.
  • Yup! My dad came for a visit and we took a trip to DC this past weekend. It was so stinkin' hot out and all that walking, I had never been so out of breath in my entire life. Everyone else was just hot - I was totally out of breath and soooo slowww... Sometimes just standing up and doing absolutely nothing makes me out of breath. It's ridiculous!

  • Same here! I keep reminding myself that it is going to get worse before it gets better. I actually put myself on mute during conference calls so I can breathe as loud as I want.
