Welcome to the August Tropical Ovaries Check-In!!! Check-ins will be every Monday & Thursday. Your check-in leaders are @sweetsurrender9 (Monday) and @gsancho (Thursday).

I thought I'd get started a day early to give all of our cycle buddies a little extra bit of time to join us!

This is a check-in for those who are doing IVF/IVM or FET with an ER/ET scheduled for August. If you are interested in joining, please fill us in on your cycle below. Please include what cycle number this is for you, where you are in the process, when you expect to start stims, and when you're planning on retrieval and transfer. (Also, please update us along the way!)

I'll start.

This is our first IVF cycle. We'll get our final protocol on Thursday. Our meds will come this week, too, and then it'll just be a waiting game for CD#1. AF should arrive early next week and we'll get this show on the road!

This will be our third cycle, but our first FET. Our nurse consult is on Tuesday. We are currently in a holding pattern however, because I still had some leftover tissue from my miscarriage in May.

My RE wanted me to go another cycle on BC to see if another period would clear everything out. I have another SIS scheduled for July 28 that will determine whether we move forward.

If all is clear, I'll start Lupron on July 30, Estrace on August 9 and a transfer is set for August 29.

This is my first FET off of my second IVF. My tentative FET date is August 8th. Right now, I am waiting for AF (should be next weekend) to officially start this cycle. I'm ready, not excited, but proud to be a part of a group of cyclers again.

Hi everybody! I'm on BCPs (only for 15 days which i wasn't expecting). My baseline is on Sunday and then I'll start stims on 7/23. My calendar has a tentative ER date of 8/6, but I think it'll be before then.

Hi this is our first IVF with ICSI and donor sperm. My period should be here by the 17th and we start stims on day 3 or day 5, I assume they will remind me at my baseline ultrasound. My Dr. is hoping to do the ER around CD 14 or 15 but I don't have a lot of faith in that because on my own I usually dont ovulate until day 18. Then we will be doing the FET the next cycle.

Hi everyone!
This is going to be our first IVF cycle. We're doing a mini/natural version. I just got my meds in on Friday afternoon and am currently waiting for cd1. Letrozole tabs on days 3-7 I think and then menopur and ganirelix.
I'm not 100% sure if I belong in this particular check-in or not but I'm guesstimating ER at the end of July/first of August. They aren't really giving me much of a timeline to work off of, but if you ladies feel I would be better suited to the July check-in, I'll duck on in over there.
Otherwise I'm happy to get this show on the road

Hi ladies...I'm fairly new to the board and would love to join you. This will be IVF #1 for us. My education session, meds purchase and day 21 baseline ultrasound is this Wednesday. I expect AF to show up next Tuesday or Wednesday and we'll go from there. They have given me a tentative Retrieval date of August 4th so we'll see how I respond to the meds. Hello! This will be IVF#2 for us in August. Most likely another banking cycle. My period should show up any day and I'll start on BCPs for 2 weeks. I leave for vacation on Wednesday so when I get back I should have my first baseline appointment, around the first week in August. Excited to get this next cycle started! Hello everyone!! I am calling this IVF #2 even though IVF #1 was not a complete cycle. I am currently on Estrace and Prometruim. Once AF arrives (hopefully next week) I will go back to Estrace to line me up with the other women in the August group. My clinic does IVF cycles in groups. By the estimated timeline that my nurse gave me, I am thinking that I should start stimming about August 8th.

Oh boy, it really is mid-July. Well I've been on BCP's since last Saturday and take my last one tonight. I start lupron Thursday and stims on Saturday. We're doing microdose lupron flare again, so I'm somewhat hopeful as last time we did it, it produced the most. So this is our 5th IVF/ICSI/AH and our last one using my OE. We are still going to the Donor Seminar tomorrow just so we are prepared. Yes, it's pessimistic, but I figure we have less than a 5% chance of this actually working and I feel insane for even trying. We only just decided 2 weeks ago to even do this once more instead of doing DE next. We are doing a 5dt no matter what this time so hopefully we will actually have a transfer. And if we're really lucky, we'll transfer 2. I expect ER will be 8/3 as I usually stim for 13 days.

Hi ladies! This may be my first & last post as a potential "Tropical Ovaries" girl (hense why I still don't have the badge on my siggy!). It looks like AF has started today, and I still don't know the results of DH's SA from yesterday. If they would just call me I could ask them what I can/should/need to do if I want this process to start now (like do I go get BCPs?). If the RE wants me to take BCPs and I can't find out until our appointment next week, then I'll likely have no choice but to be a September girl instead! If he says I don't need to begin with BCPs then there's hope I can cycle in August.

I want to call them and just ask, but last month my clinic implemented this new administration fee for "orientation, support and teaching materials, emergency calls/phone consultations and after hours services ... letters to employers or insurance companies, repeating/calling in prescriptions to your pharmacy" Apparently the government isn't covering them any more (or at least not as much) for this type of stuff so we have to pay $25 each time, or $400 in $100 instalments, or $350 in one shot (the last two options would cover an unlimited amount of uses for a year I assume) Ugh. I don't want to email them and pay $25 just for their answer to be "You'll have to discuss it with Dr. Michael"

Hi everyone!

This is our first IVF cycle. I started BCP on Wednesday and I have an appointment for ultrasound and blood on July 31 and that is when I will get my protocol and all my meds will be ordered. I'll also have a hysteroscopy on July 21.

Hello everyone. I am doing a natural FET cycle in AUG. So when AF arrives sometime in early AUG, call RE to do bloodwork and US, do at home ovulation test and when positive, call RE and come in the morning to monitor ovulation, and hen I ovulate, transfer 5 or 6 days later. I have 2 IVF and 1 FET failed cycles. This is FET #2. I have 7 frozen, and plan to transfer 2. I'm very nervous, but excited. Last cycle was JUL/13, so hopefully a year off will make a difference

After the last failed cycle, I was diagnosed with antiphospholipid syndrome and hypothyroidism. I am now on lovenox and levothyroxine. I will also be taking progesterone and baby aspirin.

I guess I'm going to have to bow out of this cycle. I anticipated a minimal co-pay, and now we're hearing a co-pay of over $3k. We'll need to save for a bit longer to be able to afford that.

This will be our first IVF w/ ICSI. My husband had the TESE procedure last week. I am in the middle of my third week on BCP. I go for a baseline appointment on Thursday and if everything looks good will start stims Sunday. I have not been given my actual protocol or estimated dates yet. Hopefully I will have more information Thursday. Good luck everyone!

Hi all!
I have had IVF #1 planned since April for July but nothing ever goes as planned!! I've been playing the waiting game here for weeks! Due to my body not ovulating every month, I was on provera last week. Last pill was Saturday! Now, I continue to wait for my period to get here. (Hasn't come since May!) I'll head in for cd3 bloodwork and US, then BCP for 3 weeks. I guess we will get our calendar then! I have had my meds since June, so I am ready to go! Good luck to everyone!!!

I got a call from the fertility pharmacy yesterday that my meds had been ordered. I was a little confused because I didn't think we were ordering them until July 31. I'm so glad I had the list of everything that would be ordered or I would have freaked out listening to her list everything.

I'm all set for delivery on July 29 so I can begin after my appointment on the 31st. They are going to call me back next week after going through insurance to let me know how much I owe.

Right now I'm on synthroid, metformin, BCP, prenatal vitamin, aspirin and DHEA and I feel like all these meds are already messing with my body so I'm a little concerned about what's to come.

@ronniesgirl1981 Would you consider this IVF #1? Or #1, take two? Or #2? I know you had such a crazy time last go round and everyone calls their next IVF round something different.

Hi all, I just introed out in the main forum. Just started BCP and will see my RE on the 28th (on vacation now) to get things rolling. Hoping to have insurance approval shortly so they can order my meds. Not sure of protocol or dates yet, but he said we can do a cycle in August so I believe this is the right group for me :-)
