3rd Trimester

Anyone else having alot of vaginal discharge?

Sorry if it's tmi. I have been experiencing alot of watery vaginal discharge, pretty much through out my whole pregnancy. I am 28 weeks. I thought it was normal really so I didn't think much of it. I was wondering if anyone else experiences this? It's always been quite a bit, enough to run down my leg, again sorry for tmi. Do you guys think this is normal?

Re: Anyone else having alot of vaginal discharge?

  • What does your OB say? Increased vaginal discharge is definitely normal in pregnancy, but if you're concerned about it, you should talk to your OB.

  • I haven't said anything to my OB about it, I know stupid. Again I thought it was normal so I just put it off as a regular preg symptom. The only reason I started being concerned was yesterday, I decided to mow the yard and my yard is really huge. That night I had really bad abdominal pain followed by some more discharge. I looked it up on the Internet and it said that some discharge was normal but alot to the point where it kind of "leaks out" is not. So idk, I will probably just call the office and talk to a nurse. Thank you for your replys. :)
  • I had this issue. Talked to dr about it and she checked me. Said it was normal increased discharge mixed with urine and sweat. Especially if you were mowing the lawn could have been sweaty. To determine urine give it the sniff test gross I know. But it will smell more ammonia like. Thanks to baby sitting on your bladder.

  • I was sent to L&D because of a change in consistency and amount because they were concerned of amniotic fluid. Get it checked for sure. I have had a slow increase in discharge and then one morning I flooded my shorts. It's been consistent since then.
  • I've been having discharge for a few weeks now. This week especially it's been more. I've been checked one to make sure it wasn't amniotic fluid.

But yeah, you can do a smell test. It's gross, but it helps you tell. Baby is really low so that's why I'm getting an increase, and I'm sure some is a little pee too. So sexy.

  • I have had an increase in discharge but baby is sitting really low and he is head down. I do the smell test as well. It is gross and I am pretty sure a part of mine is the mucus plug starting to come out.

  • I was wondering the same thing actually. I noticed a lot more wetness and I think it could be discharge. I was also worried it could be fluid. Can the dr check for this in the office or is this something only checked in L&D
  • I've had this issue my whole pregnancy as well. Usually white or yellowish in color, but today slightly pink.. Normal??

@MAKDPS09‌ I think when it's pink it's the plug, how far are you??
  • I'm right there with you with the amount of discharge. It's definitely to the point where it runs down my leg and soils enough of my clothing that I have to change my outfit hips down. It's extremely embarrassing being in a bathing suit and feeling like I'm sitting in a puddle. I wish there was a way to eliminate this disgusting feeling considering I go thru this at least twice a day. One of the lovely perks of motherhood and for the reward in the end I guess it will have to be manageable. It's good to know I'm not the only one out there going thru this.
  • OK so I am not the only one. I feel so gross it so hot outside too.

  • I've notice mine picking up too. I bought litmus paper to test any fluids incase it increases past the point of comfort

  • I'm right there with the PPs - it started at beginning of 2nd tri and hasn't gone away. Some days it's more than others. I've noticed an increase when I'm more active. I hate it, but I wear a panty liner every day and in the mornings after a shower, if I wait just slightly too long before putting on another liner/undies, then - yes - it drips down my leg. Gross.

  • Have any of you ladies got checked for your AFI? Which is fluid levels I believe it's more normal for it to drop as delivery gets closer but at about 29 to 34 leakage should be tested to make sure your not losing fluids , what does your ob say mine is extra paranoid which makes me paranoid :/
