I'm feeling ok at the moment! I slept intermittently last night and was up every few hours, but I got an early start so I think I got enough cumulative hours.

The only way I can get rid of my hiccups is to hold my ears while drinking ten gulps of water.

I take the commuter bus to work.  I get on the bus every morning and go to sleep.  This morning however, My seat mate woke me up because I was snoring, like really really big fat pregnant lady snoring.  OOPS.  I opened my eyes and everyone was staring at me.  I burst out laughing! One of my husband and I's favorite couples is coming over for dinner tonight and I'm super excited.  Also the nursery is completely empty now!  Ordering the crib this week and going to hang up Nemo's clothes and put away the little bit of stuff we have so far.  My back is a little rough today, but it's all good.

Monday is going ok so far. Working from home today, which i great because I was so tired this morning! My rant....I have a last minute trip to Houston tomorrow. I was really hoping to be done with travel until after the baby comes, but that isn't happening....

I have nothing really. I love the nedi pot though for sinus infections/colds.  Always helps me and it is a natural way to relieve illness.

  • Monday again? My days seem to be dragging together lately. My 17 month old is going through sleep regression so his 8:00 bedtime turns into a 3 hour fight to hopefully get him to sleep before midnight. His pediatrician said to just keep our same bedtime routine and it should pass within a month or two. Sigh...
I just hope he turns it around before baby comes! I am exhausted.

Home remedies? Hmmm... well, if you are ever in a situation where you don't want to sneeze, press the are directly under your nose. Stops it everytime!
  • Monday isn't going so hot for me so far. I can't breathe. I blow dry my hair (my long, long, thick hair) for almost 20 minutes and am ready to pass out. You might have noticed that I just started a new discussion with my breathing issues :/

No home remedies for me - but I'm open to any ideas for charlie horses!

  • Monday....blah. Nothing exciting here....although if I can get motivatedto get dressed, I may take the kids to a movie this morning...kids are free and adults just $1....score.

Home remedy....when I have a bad cough, I put Vicks on my feet and wear socks before bed and sleep like an angel. It works great for the kids too...who knows why.
Also....breast milk works for everything...can't wait to have a supply again. Ear ache, pink eye, scratches, colds....love the stuff.

A pretty average Monday. Got a run in early and that made me happy as I was super bad about exercise last week. My Sunday was really the rough day. I was cranky pregnancy hormonal and DH and I were getting on each other's nerves all day. Normally it's our one day where we spend time, as neither of us is working - but instead we were bickering over silly things and I kept crying for no reason. Uggh...leveled out today.

Rant: the furniture my mom bought and paid for doesn't quite fit in the baby room (dresser and hutch set) and I may have to start all over. Makes me sad just thinking about it.

Rave: We finally bought the car and brought it home on Sat. We ended up with the RAV4 - long story, but the short version is we liked the drivability better on it and the oh so great honda dealer we were dealing with ended up lying to us about something and we walked out the evening we thought we were going to buy the car, then DH found a Toyota dealer a tiny bit further away and they were family owned and awesome and gave us the best deal we'd seen on the RAV4 and we decided to go for it and are both very happy.

Do you have any home remedies for minor illnesses or discomforts that have always worked for you? I 2nd FamousEA's - I find when sick drinking a ton of OJ and lots of chicken soup seems to move the cold along. I also find OJ is the only thing my throat can tolerate when I'm sick - you are supposed to stay hydrated but water always is so hard to get down when your throat feels icky. I also swear by wellness pills (when not pregnant) - they are ones I get from the health food store and if I take them when I'm just starting to feel sick sometimes I skip the cold all together. Though - that's not quite a home remedy :).

@FamousEA - sorry for the awful night. Hope the day goes better and you can sneak a nap in.

  • @FamousEA and @supersuz : Well I have been doing the big pregnant lady snores for awhile and so for the last two months I have been wearing the ever so sexy breathe right strips every night.  DH  says it has helped a lot.  He was more concerned that it sounded like sleep apnea then me waking him up so it is a win win.  I sleep better and so does he.   I guess that is my "home-remedy" too!

Monday is ok, I have some frozen chicken breast in the crockpot for the chicken enchiladas I will be making tonight.  I always feel better about myself when I have something in the crockpot.  I have an appointment with my endocrinologist today so that should be fun talking with him about my gd...

My allergies are out of control this morning. Also I got my first official "are you sure that's not twins?" so that felt awesome too. I'm holding out to my hair appointment this evening. I'm in serious need of a touch up. My roots are 3 inches long, not a good look!

Do you have any home remedies for minor illnesses or discomforts that have always worked for you? Whenever I'm sick to my stomach I make sure that whatever I drink is room temperature. For a hangover I always go for Gatorade! That's all I've got.

It's Monday, I think that about sums it up.  I stayed up to late last night, but I don't think I even moved in bed between 12-5am, so that's kinda nice.  I'm waiting for a cal back from my doctors office.  They left me a message at home on Friday saying that my latest blood work showed that I've got low iron.  They wanted me to call about to let them know "that I'm on something" and that was it.  No mention of how low, or what sort of thing I should be on.  Ugh, just call me!!

Do you have any home remedies for minor illnesses or discomforts that have always worked for you? Not really?  I'm really looking forward to being able to take the drugs again.

  • @FamousEA sorry for the bad night!  Glad you're getting a nap later!
@atraveller glad to hear about the Rav4!  We love ours too!

So far today I feel okay, even though I was up from about 4 to 6 am today.  If I had to work it would've been worse, so I'm just thanking my lucky stars I could go back to sleep when DH got up to go to school.

Home remedies...hmm.  I just push OJ and fluids when I'm getting a cold.  I really can't think of anything else.  Maybe sips of coke to help settle an upset stomach?

  • I am okay today, couldn't get to sleep last night though and then slept in too much this morning so I'll continue to be messed up :/ It seems really hot and humid. I need to do some packing or something else productive......

Home remedies? Neti pot for sinus congestion, and inhaling steam (like with a towel over your head). And pushing fluids and sleep when sick!

I'm tired...and emotional. After yesterday's dramatic Argentina loss to Germany in the finals of the World Cup, I've just wanted to cry. And cry. I can't get it out of my head. I feel infinitely sad about Argentina's loss. And I suppose I could save this for HDBD, but this was me yesterday before the game started.

Do you have any home remedies for minor illnesses or discomforts that have always worked for you?
Tea tree oil on a q-tip (so it's nice and soaked) and applied/dripped onto a cold sore. It's very strong smelling but seems to heal cold sores a LOT quicker (and sometimes bypassing the nasty stage altogether).
