Re: anyone have the harmony test

  • I had this test done and got the results last week (though mine was called Verifi, but it is the same test). From reading about it and talking to my doctor it is very reliable and accurate. Go to the website for Harmony and look at their data -- I felt a lot better after educating myself on the test a bit further. I understand that you are nervous -- I was too before I got my results, but it is better to know early if there is anything to be concerned about and then you can make an informed decision about getting any further testing. I screened negative for everything on the test and found out I am having a girl! I'm sure everything will be fine for you, too!

  • I too had the harmony test done.  I got the results back and everything was fine.  The only stressful thing was if they don't pull enough fetal DNA you have to go back for more blood work but I believe that happens with any of these tests that are now offered.  The results are very reliable.  Good Luck!

I had the Panorama test it's 99% accurate. Plus we found out the gender at 14w instead of 20 weeks. They told me that it would take 15 days for the results and it was exactly 15 days until I got the phone call.

  • thanks ladies....the ultrasound part of the test went well ... so now I am just waiting for the results of the bloodwork.....happy all your results were good....keeping my fingers crossed.
  • The ultrasound is part of the NT scan and blood test. Harmony is separate.  I had the Harmony test done with the gender determination as well. They told me there was a less than 1:10,000 chance that baby has trisomies 13, 18 or 21 and that there is >99% chance that we're having a boy.  From everything I've heard it's very reliable.  I got my results in less than 2 weeks, even with a holiday.

  • I had it. It took 7 days for the results. I found it very easy and very accurate. Good luck

  • I had it when I screened positive for Downs (1:57) with my first tri blood work. My NT scan results were in the "normal" range. The results from the Harmony test were great, less than 1:10,000. I also found out we are having a boy, which we confirmed with no doubt at my anatomy scan.

  • I had the test and it was reliable/accurate
  • all of the cell-free DNA screenings are very accurate.....i'm 10wk pregnant, and I actually counsel patients on these tests daily with my job as a women's health nurse practitioner.  as an advanced maternal age patient, I too, will be doing one of these screenings!!!  couldn't agree with you guys more....being prepared is vital :)
  • I hope you can help....
Had nt scan and blood work, came back 1:7500 chance! Felt great ! Went in for anatomy scan, they found 2 soft markers... Extra fluid on kidney and short femur had follow up ultrasounds and still a little extra fluid around kidney(after 28 weeks fluid stayed under 10, so haven't had any more ultrasounds) femur caught up at 22-28 weeks and everything else was good...even had fetal echocardio . So had harmony test : came back less 1:10000 chance .... I'm still stressing !! Help please, :*(

I keep thinking he has DS after 2 low risk blood work and now only thing on ultra sound is the kidney thing...advise. Tips. I hate feeling like this .

First of all, this thread originated in Oct last year... Why dig it up?...

Second off - Harmony is more accurate than 'soft marker' tests. So if yours came back with less than 1 in 10,000, just CHILL! At least about chromosome disorders. Obviously Harmony doesn't test for other developmental issues, but it sounds like your main concern is DS, in which case seriously relax!

I would think that a chomosomal issue is highly unlikely, base on the findings of the Harmony and NT scan.  Has the doctor said what they suspect it could be?  It's totally natural to worry about the health of you baby, we all do that.  I'll be thinking of you and hoping you get some closure on the kidney issue.  Hopefully it's something that will 'catch up', like the femur?!

    Good luck, hun!

  • Thanks for your kind thoughts! The doctors haven't seemed concerned about DS. The kidney thing could fix itself before birth, right after birth or a few months later.
  • Well that sounds promising!  I will be thinking happy thoughts for you!!!
