Multiples

School q?

I'm very premature in thinking about this, but curious if anyone tried to enroll your multiples at a school with a lottery system and only 1 kid got in. Did they admit the other one because they're siblings? Did you split them up? It's important to me for my kids to go to a charter school and the good ones in my area are hard to get into. Subsequent siblings have priority in enrollment, but I wonder how it will work with twins

Re: School q?

  • "I'm not sure what the policy is on that. Good question! I'm thinking that a parent would request both get in or neither get in"
-my mom, public school teacher, AK

"They will put them in the same public school, at least my district will, they are sensitive to that."
-friend, public school, CA (in one of the best districts in CA)

I would say call or email and ask!

  • At the boys' school (there was a lottery to get in), the lottery was per family, not per kid. So once our family got picked, all three were in.
