So one of my mom friends mentioned a Chinese gender predictor that's online ...it takes into account the day you conceived and your age to predict what gender your baby will be. It wasn't even accurate for 2 of my friends who tried it out before they knew what they were having! But still, each month (especially since starting IUI's) I plug in my info. Today I just did it for my current cycle and Ta-da! I'm having a girl

So silly and totally jumping the gun. And yet I can't stop doing it!!
I also stalk a site on twoweekwait.com (
https://www.twoweekwait.com/bfp-by-iui) that gives IUI success stories. I get so happy when I read new stories of women who've been trying and end up getting pregnant by IUI. Anyone else look at this site too??
Hmm what else .....Oh yeah, another habit I have is looking for "signs". I play this bizarre mind game with myself. For example, I'm waiting for my husband to come home so we can go out to dinner together. I think to myself "OK, if he gets home before 7pm ...that's a sign from beyond that this cycle will be a BFP." So so silly and ridiculous. And often makes the 2WW worse! When I don't get the right answer (i.e. My husband gets home AFTER 7pm and my hopes are crushed), I actually get depressed which makes no sense at all!
Anyone else have similar stories of crazy behavior to share??

June 2014 - Clomid 150mg CD4-8. HCG shot CD14. IUI#2 done on 6/9 and 6/10 (CD15-16) w/ Prometrium suppositories during TWW .... BFN

July 2014 - Repeat ultrasound done to measure size of fibroid - 8x9cm (the size of a grapefruit!) Surgery referral made.
August 2014 - MRI done which revealed 2 fibroids: a 13x15cm fibroid as well as an 8x7cm one. Super freak out mode over surgery plan. OB-GYN/surgeon said surgery would most likely have to be a laparotomy (open abdominal surgery)
August 2014 - After a 2nd opinion, plan to take Lupron x 2 months to shrink fibroids then laparoscopic/robotic myomectomy. Surgery date is set for Nov 21st!
November 2014 - Robotic myomectomy done (2 large fibroids removed, mild endo found). Benched x 3 months
PAIF/SAIF welcome
Re: Does anyone else do these crazy things? (BFP's mentioned, not mine)
Every time I have a cramp or am over tired I think oh maybe this is it. It's so irritating lol.

I *don't* think about names, look at or buy clothes, etc. That's too painful for me.
Sadly, I can tell you that my EDD for the IUI cycle I'm in is the last day of spring break, so (if I gave birth on my due date), I'd have a paid week off before my EDD and could reasonably not return to school for the rest of the year and my maternity leave would extend into the summer. That is *way* too much thought to have put into this at 2 dpiui. :-P
FWIW @EastBayBride508 my mom did the Chinese gender predictor for all 5 of her children and it was accurate every time! I'm sure it's just coincidence but cool anyway!
I am oh so guilty of looking up my EDD. But, honestly, after years of TTC, I can pretty well calculate it in my head. The online calculator I use always gives you the option for calculating from the "day you conceived" but has a little note that says, "few women know this for sure."
Not in our world, bitch!
I have never bought any clothes, because that seems too painful. DH and I talked about names when we first started trying but now I don't even think about it. One step at a time....
I'm also guilty of overreacting to symptoms. If my nipples aren't sore by 10dpo I totally write off a cycle!
@lebradford I'm right there with you! I think we have talked about this before. Late spring babies make for prime time maternity leave! FX this is it for us!
