Scared.

I'm almost nine weeks along and had a scary moment today. I see my doctor on the 16th and am going to be worried up until the moment I see her...

Earlier, I was stuck in traffic and had a very full bladder. So full, that by the time I could empty it, I had to push a bit. When I was done, I saw that I had discharged a light brown mucus. It freaked me out right away. I'm not bleeding or in any real pain, but I'm scared. Nobody ever said that this might happen. Now, I can't sleep. I'm scared I'll wake up to a miscarriage...

  • Brown is normal. I had this a couple times. Not sure of the reason, but I Think it's because I pushed too hard pooping. :) who knows. Keep am eye on it. If it gets darker or red, call your dr.

  • I just had my appointment this past Thursday, my doctor said brown is normal and to expect discharge to increase the further along you get. Don't worry yourself too much. Just keep an eye on it and if it turns red, call your doctor.
  • Don't be afraid. Brown is old blood. My doc told me not to worry unless its bright red. You're fine.
  • I definitely had this a few times it's old blood. I mentioned it to my Dr. at my first appointment and she wasn't concerned at all either.

  • Good luck. I have a feeling all is going to be fine. Like other ladies said bright red bleeding is more of a concern & cramping. Try and relax and not get your body all worked up.
  • Thank you all. I feel better knowing all of this. I'm doing better today. No discharge of any kind so far.
  • Sounds like it's probably normal, but I understand your nervousness too. Hang in there until your appointment and you will feel relieved! :)
