Hip pain? Hurts to move? Sciatica? Vag falling out? See here.

I found myself literally brought to tears this morning due to pain from all of the above. It was so bad I actually had to basically use a coworker as a crutch to walk down the hall to the bathroom and looked like a crotchety old hunchback in the process. Went on my lunch break to Motherhood and FINALLY bought one of these... My OB suggested it back like 3-4 months ago.

I'M SAVED!!

Just passing along in case any of you are suffering from the same horrid ailments of the despicable third tri. Bless your hearts, I know how it is.

  • I honestly thought my hips were going to fall apart after walking through the mall for 45 minutes. Thanks for the tip Lala

  • I've been cleared from bedrest and this is the first thing I'm buying before going back to work!
  • I can see how this would be helpful. I have been biding my belly with one of my woven baby wearing wraps whenever I feel uncomfortable and it has been a life saver.

Faaaccccckkk. I was hoping someone would actually talk me out of this product so I wouldn't spend the money, but I think you just sold me instead. There are times I swear the bump is just going to tear right off.

  • All of these feelings were exactly how I was feeling!!! And it's ALWAYS so much worse by the end of the day, amirite? Anyways if anyone else gets one please pipe up and let me know if it worked as good for you as it has for me. Just one day and I already feel way better about being able to tough it out the rest of third tri!

  • I lost my vag 2kids ago ha!! That made me giggle. Glad the belt is working. I'm on the fence again about a body pillow...I've cheaped out 2.5 pregnancies now and lately I'm dying at night but I just can't believe it would save me and they're so expensive

  • I have a super supportive one from my physical therapist for my PSD. It's amazing! Not for sitting, though.

And I highly recommend a Snoogle. Well worth the money.

After insisting to my midwife yesterday that LO has broken my pelvis in half, and then getting laughed at by my midwife, she recommended I get one as well.
So far it is not relieving my pain 100%, but there is enough improvement that it seems worth it.

@knovitski‌ I sit the majority of the day as well, and today will be my first day wearing it at work. I will give a sitting review later, but it hasn't bothered me yet in the few hours I've been here.

@MrsLaLaBug How is it for sitting down? I work at a desk all day and would think that something like that might get uncomfortable for sitting. Also, does it stay in place and hide under your clothes pretty well? I've been trying to put off any further purchases knowing we're in the home stretch, but I just might have to give in if something like this would do the trick...
I bought one ages ago because my pelvic pain started at like 14 weeks and while it does help a bit with the pain, I've found that the discomfort of using it while sitting all day at work rivals the discomfort of the pain when I get up to use the bathroom or get lunch. I think it would be ideal if you had a job where you're not sitting all day like me. And of course, your mileage may vary -- if your pain is worse the discomfort may be worth it, or you may not find it as uncomfortable as I do. On the bright side, if you get it from Motherhood they told me that I could try it out and return it if I didn't like it. And I haven't returned it, so there's that.

I've found my worst pelvic pain is when trying to roll over when sleeping at night, and unfortunately this thing is too uncomfortable for me to sleep in all night too. It's fine for a few hours, but then I just really want to take it off, and it doesn't work if I'm not wearing it. Bummer because the pain keeps getting worse! Maybe soon the pain will be worth the discomfort of the belt. Something to look forward to, I guess? : /

ETA: Oh and it definitely stays in place and hides under clothes pretty well as long as what you're wearing isn't too form-fitting.

  • I would see a chiropractor as well..it's been a life saver throughout this pregnancy, easing hip pain, round ligament pain, and keeping everything where it should be for an easier delivery.

  • I need one for the top of my belly, this kid won't get out of my ribs and it feels like I'm being staked!!

  • @knovitski‌ I have a "desk job" so-to-speak, but also do quite a bit of moving during the day walking up and down the hall, lots of get up, sit down, get back up. It's not exactly the most comfortable thing in the world while sitting - but honestly I think it matters how you adjust the belt because it really does almost make you want to sit up straighter if that makes sense? I have had no issues with it sliding off or bunching up. I also have no issues with it showing under my clothes, but I dress comfortably and conservatively bc of my job. Example: today I was wearing a maxi skirt and a tank top with a cardigan over it. You could not see the belt for the tank top over it, regardless if the cardi had also covered it or not. Hope that helps! I kinda want to take a bump pic wearing it and not wearing it so I can see the difference it makes holding my big ol' belly up!!

  • My doctor told me to check with my insurance to see if they would cover a support band. She called to get authorization and I'm just waiting to hear back. If it's a no go, I will DEFINITELY be getting one because I have had all of the above!

@knotviski I was at work for about 10 hours and I was comfortable all day. I agree with LaLa that I felt like it was also keeping me sitting up straight. I had a much easier time getting up from my chair, and was not in excruciating pain walking around after sitting for too long between breaks.

I feel like it was a little noticeable under the back of my shirt... it kind of looked like my shirt was a little bunched up.

I don't mind taking with and without pics if that would be helpful for anyone.

First is without, second is with
I don't think the picture really does justice to how different everything feels when it is on.

Ok, I bought one after reading this thread, and I do like the support, but does anyone else's baby not like the thing at all? It's like as soon as I put it on, baby gets really antsy and it feels like he or she is trying to get away from it. Maybe I'm just paranoid, but after wearing it a few hours and taking it off, baby was swimming ALL OVER the place as if it was like. Yayyy freedom.

@wpatx‌ I have not noticed anything like that... Are you wearing it below your bump?

  • So happy to hear I am not the only one!!! I keep telling my DH that it hurts between my legs!!!! I yell out in pain when ever I get up from laying down which is every hour at night!
  • nienotnienot member
    @reverey‌ @knovitski‌ @AnyMax‌

Wearing it below the bump, but LO is super low and head down and I think it sort of shifts everything up a little too much for him or her. Then again, I think they might just be super sensitive, because LO hates when I lay on my right side and moves a ton.

With that said, I haven't worn pants one time since being pregnant (and only loose shorts when I work out). I hate pants and never wear them normally, all dresses for me, so I never have anything around my belly or below my belly or anything. So, maybe LO is just used to not having any pressure down there.

I guess I don't know if all the wiggling is discomfort, but I can only assume that's what it means. Plus, it makes it uncomfortable for me, which sort of defeats the purpose of wearing it. Maybe when I'm a little further along it will help more.
