Montessori Floor Bed??

I'm curious how many of you have this set up? My son is 13 months old and hates his crib. He starts his night off there and ends up in our bed.  I noticed he sleeps much longer in our bed even if we aren't in there. In the next week, he's transitioning into the next room at daycare where he will be napping on the floor on a mattress. Which made me think, maybe we should try this set up at night.  I would love to hear your experience with it! TIA!

  • we did that with my son when he was 14mo and it worked out great. We just made sure his room was totally safe if he were to get up.

We did that with DS1 at 11 months because he would not sleep in a crib. We had a great experience and he started sleeping better. We eventually did the Sleep Lady Shuffle to finally get him totally sleeping through the night. We super baby proofed and gated the door.

We've used a floor bed since our daughter was born. She sleeps wonderfully on it, just lays right down and goes to sleep. Sometimes she will play in her room beforehand, but gets on the bed when she's tired. Sometimes she'll get up and play when she wakes up. It works very well! Definitely make sure the entire room is safe, and a video monitor is a big plus!
