Tell me about Sonic

I think we're going there tonight and I've never been to one. There were commercials for them where I used to live for the past few years, but there wasn't a sonic anywhere near there (odd and annoying lol!). So, what's good? What do I want to eat?

Their hot dogs are pretty good.

Overall, I don't really care for them that much, but if there's nothing else around (like when we were out in Lampasas, TX) then I'm not opposed.

I've only been to one once since there aren't any local, but I didn't have much of an appetite because I was waiting back for some test results that had me a nervous wreck. I took a few of DHs tots and they were delish.

the very first apartment DH and I lived in when we moved to Tampa was next to a sonic and a strip club hahahaha.

Sonic was open late so when we both got off work we'd walk over there and get something to munch on and split a shake and people watch all the dudes at the strip club.

@Hollylb3 @ CnAmom What kind of slushies do they offer? I haven't had one of those since I was in elementary school!

We're supposed to get a Sonic here soon. I'm torn between pouting like a baby because I didn't get the CFA I wanted or just getting over it and finding out what's tasty there. If only I had thought to get a milkshake when I was there.

Their drinks and ice ate amazing. Happy hour is from 2-4 and drinks are half priced. I literally go everyday for a route 44 water in the summer.

Not much love for Sonic in this thread and here I am, ubber jealous of all you who get to eat there anytime you want!

I love it and wish we had them out here in CA. Fun fact: I was a Car Hop for YEARS during High School and college and it was some of the best money I've ever made (pre-career)!

Their cheeseburgers are fantastic and that fried chicken club on Texas Toast is the most delicious heart-attack-between-2-slices-of-bread I've had in a long time.

Get tator tots smothered in cheese and the onion rings. YUM!

Oh! And I love their strawberry limeade with extra fruit!

yes! the big UFO? We lived there almost 3 years ago. They were behind the Sweet Bay- haven't been over there in ages. Wonder if that Sweet Bay was one of the ones that closed...

I found one out in American Canyon on the way up to Napa and was EXTREMELY disappointed - they put my "strawberry limeade" in a plastic cup {gasp} and it did NOT have the little tiny bead ice that Sonic is famous for. **faint**

@lalamama81 - YES and they serve Dr. Pepper, which is HUGE because there are very few places out here that do.

It's pretty darn great - made fresh and you can watch them make it if you are in the drive-thru line. Their milkshakes are THE BOMB!

I love a strawberry cheesecake milkshake.... Soo good. The food is good for a fast food joint. I like the coney's. Ds loves cheeseburgers. The have some good jalepeno poppers that are good. The chicken is good. My favorite drink is a strawberry limemade slush. Is it the healthiest? No but not very many fast food places are...

Mozzarella sticks, Mango tea, chili cheese tots, and salted caramel shake!!! Not all at the same time of course but all delish! I hit up happy hour pretty much daily in the summer!

Maybe because I'm in Texas and there are two Sonics within 5 miles of me in both directions, but I love Sonic. I usually get the chili cheese coney, or the popcorn chicken with honey mustard. Anything on Texas Toast is also pretty good.

Milkshakes are good, the Sonic Blast rivals the DQ Blizzard easily, although I like both. Cherry Limeade. There is a Diet Cherry Limeade, too. It's also a nice place to stop when your baby has fallen asleep in the car and you can park and order and eat.
