Welcome to the weekly check-in!

Reply to this post if you would like your information updated.  Please post an update at least monthly so I know you are still active - even if your info hasn't changed.  You will be removed if you go more than four weeks without posting.

If you would like to be added or updated, please answer the questions below:

1. What is your name (if you want to share)?
2. When did you start TTC (month/year)?
3. What is your diagnosis (if you have one)?
4. What treatments are you doing?

For everyone who is up to date on the above, where are you in your current cycle and how's it going?

If you are finally getting your BFP, please PM me so I don't miss it!  Also this helps me avoid posting an ambiguous BFP if you're not ready to officially call it.

QOTW: What's the meaning behind your bump name?

I'm O'ing pretty late for me. Yesterday's OPK was fairly dark, today's was negative. So I don't know it today is O day, since my temp is still down, or if it was a fake out. I guess we will see with tomorrow's temp.

We are still debating between ivf in August or September...

QOTW: mine is pretty boring - part of my name, and we were married on the 29th.

  • Nothing has changed here. Hubs is still 1300 miles away. Boo.

QOTW: my aunt jokes that her family is the g--- gaggle (as in geese, because there's so many of them), so I made mine the Holman herd because we want a lot of kids and I will be wrangling my own 'herd' someday. It's silly.

  • Just truckin along...halfway through my 2WW. I go in tomorrow for bw. Not really feeling it this time. It's almost like I'm going through all the motions out of hope but I don't really believe I could actually get pregnant. Maybe that's just a coping mechanism. Either way...it helps me keep my sanity.

QOTW: Pretty boring. It's just my name. Some people call me Anna some Anna Claire....and 256 has ALWAYS been my favorite #. No clue why.

    Me (29) DH (37)

    Married 7/11

    Actively TTC 3/12

  • I'm Sony.  Been TTC since Jan of last year.  I have one ovary/tube following a surgery to remove my left side ovary/tube.  I have uterine fibroids as well.  I'm currently on IUI #3 with beta on 7/24.

QOTW: I chose this name when I was on TK.  I live in the East Bay area of CA and 5/08 is my birthday  :)  Yeah, not very creative.
    **Formerly EastBayBride508**

    Me 34   Him 33

Me - Left salpingo-oophorectomy at 19 due to large cyst/torsion  and 2 large uterine fibroids found at age 30
Him - Borderline low sperm count (correcting through Fertility Blend supplement)

    Married 8/20/2011
    TTC #1 since Jan 2013
    First appointment with RE 10/2013.
    April 2014 - Clomid 100mg CD3-7.  HCG shot CD10 IUI #1 done on 4/12/14 (CD12) ....BFN
May 2014 - Break cycle to repeat saline sonogram and re-group.  Travel to Kauai 5/7-5/12 (Yay!!)
    June 2014 - Clomid 150mg CD4-8.  HCG shot CD14.  IUI#2 done on 6/9 and 6/10 (CD15-16) w/ Prometrium suppositories during TWW .... BFN
    July 2014 - Clomid 150mg CD3-7.  Ultrasound CD12 - 4 mature follies! HCG trigger shot CD12 AM.  IUI#3 on CD13 w/ Prometrium suppositories during TWW ....BFN
July 2014 - Repeat ultrasound done to measure size of fibroid - 8x9cm (the size of a grapefruit!) Surgery referral made.
August 2014 - MRI done which revealed 2 fibroids: a 13x15cm fibroid as well as an 8x7cm one.  Super freak out mode over surgery plan.  OB-GYN/surgeon said surgery would most likely have to be a laparotomy (open abdominal surgery)
August 2014 - After a 2nd opinion, plan to take Lupron x 2 months to shrink fibroids then laparoscopic/robotic myomectomy.  Surgery date is set for Nov 21st!
November 2014 - Robotic myomectomy done (2 large fibroids removed, mild endo found).  Benched x 3 months

    PAIF/SAIF welcome
  • @rainbowbridge14 - Awesome!  I just PM'ed you.  Nice to meet a fellow East Bay lady!  I love the Bay area in general, I feel so lucky to live here.

  • I finished my BCP and today was day 7 of Lupron.

QOTW: it's my latest email... Part of my name and city because I am obsessed with all things big city (like NYC).

    Me: 32  DH: 33  Married: March 2004

    July 2006: started TTC
2008: HSG (normal), couple rounds of clomid through gyno
2008 - 2010: dragging my feet out of fear and procrastination
October 2010: first consultation with RE, dx PCOS and fibroids (DH slightly low count/motility)
Oct. 2010 - Dec. 2012:  In DENIAL! avoided the issue because I was scared of surgery
January 2013: returned to RE, fibroids grew significantly
February 2013: second HSG, fibroids pushed on tubes which blocked them somewhat
March 2013: MRI to determine what type of surgery may be necessary

July 29, 2013: fibroids (5) removed via robotic laparascopy
August 2013 - Nov 2013 : benched due to recent surgery

    IUI #1, Dec. 24, 2013, BFN
    IUI #2, Jan. 25, 2014, BFN
    IUI #3, Feb. 25, 2014  BFN
IUI #4 canceled due to lack of response to letrozole
    IUI #4.1 April 28, 2014, BFN

May 16, 2014: wtf consult, start prepping for IVF in June and add injects for one last IUI in the meantime
IUI #5 started letrozole and bravelle but canceled after HSG led to new diagnosis

May 21, 2014: third HSG, tubes blocked, one at the beginning, one hydrosalpinx??
June 11, 2014: consult, approved to move on to IVF because the hydro is not completely blocked therefore allowing fluid to move through slowly rather than backwards
    IVF #1 August 8, 2014 - 3dt of 2 embryos, BFN
September 17, 2014 - 4th HSG, the right tube is very patent (open!!) dye went straight through this time. Weird!
    October 2, 2014 - started metformin treatment
    November 14, 2014 - blood work, brought A1C down from 5.8 to 5.5

November 26, 2014 - RE finally back from vaca and reviewed my chart, no more IVFs for rest of calendar year
December 1, 2014 - Right after Thanksgiving, I called a new clinic and got in right away! Plan for IVF
    December 17, 2014 - ER! 29 retrieved (!!), 16 mature, all 16 fertilized (ICSI)

    IVF #2 December 20, 2014 - 3dt of 3 embryos, BFN

We are done with treatment unsuccessfully. :(

    3. What is your diagnosis (if you have one)? Unexplained Infertility

Just had my first IUI July 3.  I can take a test this Thursday!  (And I am terrified.)

QOTW: What's the meaning behind your bump name?
Super boring.  It's my first and middle name initials plus my last name.  I've never been good at coming up with screen names so I just default to my email address because it's easy to remember.

@rainbowbridge14 & @eastbaybride508 - I am also in the Bay Area!!  On the peninsula, not the East Bay though.  Are either of you going to UCSF for treatment?  There was a lady at the RE's office for every one of appointments this cycle so I know we had the same cycle.  Just thought it would be TOO weird if one of you ended up being her.

Hi Kristal!  I don't go to UCSF.  I have health coverage through Kaiser Permanente and go to their RE office close to me.  That would definitely be crazy though to find out that we'd been going to the same RE this whole time and posting on the same forum!  Haha

  • 11dpiui... @rainbowbridge14‌ - I just can't ever wait until I'm suppose to POAS but got a BFN this morning too. I still keep hoping, but it helps me prepare for either AF arrival or my official BFN so I'm not blindsided. QOTW: Mine is a nickname...really has no meaning, my friends all used to have nicknames for each other & even as we grew up somehow mine stuck...forever...lol

QOTW: It's a combo from parts of nicknames DH has for me. Bunny rabbit, blueberry, small deer, jelly princess, cuddly bear, banana girl....he seems to have a never ending supply of ridiculous nicknames. ***All Welcome***
  • Heya ladies! Welcome to another fabulous week of 3T! Im over here with a fantastically painful CD1 staying in bed and heat padding it up all day possibly reading a little later. I get to call tomorrow to try and get an appt with an RE here in town (I feel so lucky its literally only like 2 min from my job and 15 min from home having read that so many of you have to drive so many miles!)  I am hoping to get in and be able to do something about this cycle even though it may be to late since I dont know how busy they are. If we arent able to get in this will be a natural cycle and it will be kind of a nice break. I really feel like I could use a break after trying so many months in a row. I really havent given myself a break. A mental Vaca would be so nice. However I know I will still chart and POAS but a med break would be nice. I would also like to work on getting off some more of this weight I put on this cycle. I gained back like 8 of the pounds I worked hard to get off! No more so yes long ranting over.

QOTW: I came up with this name years ago as my RPG character I have used it ever since Screen names, Msg board names, RPG characters, Video Game characters ect. I also want to name my first daughter (if we have one!) this name. I love the name but always hated the N at the end so I dropped it to make it Autum instead =)

  • Today will be day 10 of stims for me.  Yesterday I had 12 follies that were all measuring about 10-12 mm.  The RE said that everything looks good and is moving along nicely.  I go back tomorrow morning for more bw and another u/s.  I'm adding Ganirelix to my shots tonight, so I'm interested to see how my body reacts to that.  We're still looking at having ER at some point this coming week.

So far, I have no complaints.  I'm just starting to feel bloated and a tiny bit uncomfy.  Definitely nothing like what I thought this would be like.

  • @rainbowbridge14 and @kcheese ((Hugs)) sorry about the BFN's

@lebradford I have everything crossed that one good follie is all you needed!

AFM, I finally got AF yesterday so I called the RE's office and they want me to wait one more cycle before going back to treatments.  So I guess we are still TTA.  I was kind of disappointed, but I expected them to say that so I was prepared.  This cycle was 48 days, so I will be on BCP so I can have a normal cycle length and we can get back to treatments sooner.

  • @lebradford - My cycles with Gonal-F were always different as far as my response went. First cycle I had 6 mature follies, 2nd there were 4 (or 3, I can't remember), 3rd there was just one and 4th there were 7.  It's a crapshoot, I think, on how your body responds.  I hope that you don't need any more cycles, but if you do, you definitely could have a different response next time.

    @rainbowbridge14 & @kcheese - I'm so sorry for your BFNs.

@autumray - Sorry that CD 1 is so painful.  I can relate and know that it is miserable.

  • Just waiting for Tuesday to come, when we'll have our consult with the new RE which is a longer distance but their stats for IVF blow the closer clinics out of the water. Still trying to come to grips with the fact that I just turned 30 and thought I'd have at least one kid by now but am instead looking at IVF. It has been kind of nice being on a break of sorts...we're definitely still trying in the sense that we BD, but I've been trying not to use OPKs or really worry about what CD it is.

  • Hi all, sitting in the waiting room for my second day of IUI. The original plan was to do timed intercourse, but a few days ago DH started having erection issues and it seemed better to convert to IUI to take the pressure off. Didn't realize it would be almost $1,000 extra to do it. So, sigh, just feeling sad about the unexpected change and expense. Also experiencing a lot of pressure and bloating this month- not sure if it's from the Clomid (more headaches this time too) or the IUI.

  • Hi, I'm pretty new as well and just intro'd a couple weeks ago.  You can add me to the check-in list.

    1. What is your name (if you want to share)?
    Tiffanie

    2. When did you start TTC (month/year)?
    May 2013

    3. What is your diagnosis (if you have one)?
Just rec'd a PCOS dx on Saturday

    4. What treatments are you doing?
    100mg Clomid + Trigger + TI

At my ultrasound on Saturday, I had one almost mature follicle at 17.5mm, and other smaller ones (15, 14, 10).  I triggered last night and my RE expects me to ovulate tomorrow.  I had been so hopeless for the last several months, so I'm finally feeling good about this cycle.  We shall see.

  • IUI #1 was a bfn for me. So I am now on CD 4 of a new cycle. I had my baseline u/s Friday, and I am scheduled to have my next u/s Saturday, so iui #2 should be next Monday. I was pretty disappointed when I realized iui#1 was a bust, but now I am just trying to stay positive for this cycle. Clomid is really kicking my butt though. It gives me major headaches!

My bump name is pretty boring just partly my name, and then I had to add stuff just to make it something someone else didn't have.

    Me:26 DH:27
    Married Oct 2011
NTNP for about a year before actively
    TTC since April 2013
Currently testing for infertility cause and hormone imbalance.
Infertility & ovarian cyst diagnosis: May '14
B/W: 'good', more ordered to check antibodies & progesterone
    SA: Normal :)
U/Ss for cyst: who the f knows
DH's cat scan: showed encapsulated fatty growth; u/s: didn't really show much more
Breast Specialist: Most likely a large fibroid, but keeping an eye on it, repeat u/s every 6mos
HSG: clear tubes, uterus is A-ok
WHAT'S NEXT: DH's consult with surgeon to discuss next step for growth, either biopsy or surgery~Big discussion with Dr. before any possibility of starting Clomid, since I'll want another u/s before and to be monitored and he doesn't seem into that. I had to force his hand just to order the AMH test so may be looking for another OB
    ~All welcome :) ~

    **Warning - Child mentioned**

Hello! I would like to be added to the weekly check in!

    1. What is your name (if you want to share)? Chasity 2. When did you start TTC (month/year)? I'm not sure the exact month we started just trying, as we had been not protecting for quite a while, but we started seeing an OB and tracking it in June 2013 when I was diagnosed with Endo & PCOS (as that is when we realized there was most likely a reason for my not getting pregnant on my own). 3. What is your diagnosis (if you have one)? Endo, PCOS & Unexplained Secondary Infertility 4. What treatments are you doing? 3 negative cycles of clomid, finishing my 3rd cycle of Femara. Low estrogen this month so cancelled IUI. If TI is negative this month will start injectables with IUI next month. Also taking Metformin for blood sugar levels due to PCOS, as well as synthroid as I've developed hypothyroidism throughout this process as well. My RE also mentioned doing something (I forget the procedure name, forgive me) at the beginning of my next cycle where she will put saline in my uterus to make sure there are no polyps on the lining prior to starting injectables.

I suppose I kind of gave my update in answering those questions. Really crossing my fingers for the TI this month but my RE doesn't seem super hopeful, but she thinks next month will be a good month to start injectables. My RE is a little worried about my risk for multiples though. My grandmother had 3 sets of twins, my brother was a twin, my DD was a twin (though I lost the the twin in the first trimester), and then with my being under 30, PCOS and having already had a child, she is worried about my possibly being at risk for having more than 2 with the injectables, but with some complications I had in my first pregnancy, my RE doesn't feel that I could carry more than 2 babies safely. She said that selective could be down the line if this were to happen (to become pregnant with more than 2), but before I start injectables she wants me and DH to seriously talk about it prior to starting injectables since it's such a concern. So I'm just feeling a little lost at this point and really just hoping for the best this month. Sorry so long!

  • @chastity08 Wow, that's a lot of multiples in the family! Is it true that fraternal twins (i.e. multiple follies) are what run in families? If so, at least monitoring can keep at eye on the number of follies. I pray you get one or two healthy implanted embies. :)

@rella22 Good luck I hope your IUI#1 went smoothly! :)

  • 1. What is your name?: Lindsey
. When did you start TTC?: Sept 2013
    3. What is your diagnosis?: PCOS
    4. What treatments are you doing?: Currently just Synthroid (TSH is a tad high), Viramin D & prenatal vitamins. I just completed updating my tests with my RE and will review everything soon. I'll likely start Merformin & Letrozole following that review. I'm playing the waiting game now.

QOTW: What is the meaning behind your Bump name?
That is not so exciting. It was my name for The Knot - first name, initial of my maiden name and our wedding year. I just never changed it when I got married and starting becoming active on TB. I hear it is a pain to change your name here...and I'm not creative enough to come up with a good one.
