Changing bed sheets

Ok so I change our bed sheets about once every two to three weeks (if we are actually having much sex I do it more often) but dh insists tha most 'normal' people ate doing this every week....if not more often. So tell me ladies, am I normal or gross? Most of my friends that I talk to are the same as me, so I wanted a bigger 'sample size'. I would have done this as a poll but seriously have zero idea how to, plus seems like everyone puts up an explanation with their poll anyways.

Re: Changing bed sheets

  • That's probably about the timeframe in our house too, but I wish I changed them more frequently. Ideally I'd do it weekly. I love the feeling of fresh sheets and ours start to smell like pee pull-ups because kiddo crawls into bed with us in the middle of the night.

  • I'd like to do it weekly, but lately it's been every 1.5-2 weeks.

  • At least weekly or we start to feel real gross.

Yeah, definitely not weekly. More like 2-3 weeks. But now that we have our own washer and dryer - hey, who knows!

  • The kiddos don't spend any time in our bed so there are no extra accidents. If there is a spit up or poop they get changed right away. I actually made sure I had like, four sets so I wouldn't have to make sure they got washed in time for bed. Ain't nobody got to for that!
  • Okay, I must be a slob because it's like once a month over here if not every one and a half months. Love clean sheets, but I have plenty of other laundry already.

Don't feel like a slob. Just have different priorities. Clean clothes over clean sheets any day!
  • I do it like once a month..ik ik gross. But its clean clothes and towels as number one in my book.

  • I try for every week, but it's usually every 2. The kids don't come in our bed, so we don't have that kind of mess

I used to do it once a month.  Now that I'm staying home though, once a week.  Every monday, the first thing I do when I have a second is throw the sheets and towels in the wash.  DH helps me make the bed again at bedtime.

    I'm right there with you.

Depends on who is willing to put the new sheets on. If I have to its like once a month! I hate putting the new sheets on. If DH will do it i will wash them once a week. and we have 2 full sets for our bed. I'm lazy.

  • I try to do it every weekend. I once read something about dead skin collecting in your bed and..well, no thank you!

  • I'm trying to do them weekly, but I usually don't pay any attention and probably let them go way longer than I should. Monthly is probably not far off from my actual habits

  • Weekly, but more like daily with how often lo spits up/leaks in bed. I <3 clean sheets forever!
  • Weekly in the summer (we don't have AC) and every other week the rest of the year.  If we had AC, I'd only do it every other week all year round.

  • I wish I could remember and take the time to do it weekly but it ends up being every 3-4 weeks.

Ideally I would change them weekly, but every 3 weeks is closer to reality for me. I know there's some baby spit up on my sheets but there's baby spit up everywhere.

Eta If DH wanted to change, wash, fold, and put away sheets every week I'd tell him to go for it though.

  • I think it would be nice to do weekly... Lol, but not gonna happen.

I'm probably monthly or if soiled. Haven't been having much sex, so no worries there.

I try to shower before bed so I'm cleaner and thus don't get the sheets as dirty right?

Except DH has yet to get on board with this.
  • My goal is every other week, but we sometimes go 3 weeks. I change my toddler son's sheets every week because his sheets smell like boy really quickly no matter how often we bathe him.

  • In line with the comments about washing and folding them, I actually hang them on hangers and put them in the closet. No folding drama with fitted sheets and they stay fresh as opposed to the musty smell they get in our drawers.
  • Weekly...but I admit I have a housekeeper so really she changes them weekly. If it were all up to me, I'm sure it'd be more like every 2-3 weeks

  • All beds get changed on Mondays. It's so much easier to do everyone's on the same day.

  • Weekly at least, if not more. I do have 2 dogs - one consistently sleeps on the bed, the other occasionally does. Also, when I was pregnant or immediately PP I was sweating so much I was changing them almost daily.
  • I change them every weekend.
  • Every other week at most. Between baby spit up, my husbands occasional night sweats and our dogs laying there all day... It should be daily!

  • I am still luck to get a shower every other day. But I did change the sheets last week because the cat puked in the bed :(
  • Slob here too, we only change ours once a month. But, we are both night time shower people and LO is not in our bed... I honestly don't feel like they get that gross.

  • My cleaning service changes them every two weeks when they come.

    This.
  • Is it weird that one of my goals is to become a regular sheet washer? We're like once a month right now, but I really want to do it more often. I just never remember. I need to pick a day and make it sheet changing day and put it in my phone, lol.

I've been thinking the same thing for a while but have yet to just do it. Ugh... One day!

  • 2 weeks around here and there is plenty of dried breast milk from me exploding in my sleep.. Buuuut it's like number 145 on my priority list. Nastay girl!

  • Every other week because that's how often the cleaning ladies come. Unless there is a reason to do it immediately, like the dog throwing up on them or something. Why do dogs have to throw up on soft surfaces? Like they can't throw up on the wood floor or hard surface that can be easily cleaned, they have to do it on the rug, bathmat, or bedding. Getting off topic, I know.

That's why it's Mondays in this house, it's so much easier to just pick a day and do them all that day.

  • Once a week and if LO has any kind of accident in our bed.
  • I probably wash them every 2-3 weeks in reality but it makes me feel pretty gross by then. My DH just told me our bed smells like gravy so I think its time to put them in again! Lol!
  • We do weekly, but we have a dog who sheds that likes to lay on the comforter while we're at work and i swear somehow her hair even gets in the sheets.
  • Every Sunday or Monday here. If I work the weekend it's Monday if I'm off it's Sunday. That includes baby sheets our sheets and DS's sheets. Everyone MUST get a shower/bath on sheet day that night before bed it's a pet peve of mine.
