Nervous...

I am so nervous and dreading my doctors appointment monday. It will be my first appointment since my doctor told me i miscarried and i didnt... im nervous that she will say something stupid again or not have any remorse for what she put me through.... please pray i have a decent dr appointment monday and that everything will go well... TIA

@Slaps‌ im having some trust issues and i have called around to some other doctors to see if they would accept me and they told me no that i was almost half way through my pregnancy that they wouldnt accept anybody after 14 weeks because they have already been established with a specific doctor. Kinda pissed me off. Im 16 weeks.

This is outrageous to me. What if your dr quit? What if you moved? What if your dr told you that you miscarried and you didn't?.... How on earth can a completely different dr tell you they won't see you becuase you've already established a relationship? No way. Call those other 4 offices back and ask this "are you accepting new patients" period. That is the ONLY question you need to ask and if they say yes then that's it. Make sure they are covered by your insurance, make sure they are accepting new patients and then make an appointment. They will have you fill out a form to have your records transferred.

I'm very surprised you got this reaction from any doctors, actually. I know some mamas who switched practices between 20 & 30 wks. I'd keep looking. Have you considered seeing a midwife?

That's what I'm saying too. I'm actually baffled by this. You have the right to choose whatever dr you want. As long as you're not looking for a high risk dr and the new one takes your insurance and new patients then that's all there is to it. Some women find out later that their dr and they don't see eye to eye and they leave....much further along than 16 weeks. My cousin switched at 32 weeks bc she got into an argument with her OB about her birth plan and she left!

That is crazy! I switched Doctors at 16 weeks and they would accept a new patient up to 36 weeks. I am so happy I changed doctors. I feel much more secure with my new doctor and she has given me so much valuable information.

Good luck with your appointment. You are definitly a lot more patient then me. If my doctor made that mistake and put me through that I would be gone. I hope everything goes perfect for you from here on out.

Thank you ladies and im going to try that asking about new patients and just making an appointment. The doctors i called prob said that because they are all in the same group and didnt want any confrontation with her. Im not sure but thats my guess. Im going to try a completely different ob that my mil uses and see how that goes. Im determined to find someone else. Ive never been through so much with a pregnancy im so frustrated and overwhelmed. The same dr that im at right now delievered my son and i never had any problems what so ever with her. The only prob i had was my husbands ex girlfriend the mother of his son went there the same time i did and one of the nurses kept letting her know all my information and what had been going on with my pregnancy so i confronted that nurse and let her know that she is violating HIPPA and i had no problem turning her in and from that day forward she has never taken care of me.

Get out of that practice. No one else is willing to help AND they are/have violated HIPPA.

Thank you i will be calling monday to see if this other dr will accept me she has nothing to do with this dr so maybe everything will work out. Im ready to find someone new.

Unfortunately you are probably not going to get an apology from your doctor or their practice group. DH says they likely won't do it since it could be perceived as an admission of liability.

Hugs! I also vote for switching OBs. Just make a "new patient" appointment and don't even mention that you are pregnant until you get there.
