September 2012 Moms

Weekend plans?

What's everyone up to this weekend?  I'm so excited to have absolutely nothing planned- just hanging out with the girls and DH at home.  I am trying to do a no spend rest of the month (except for groceries and staples) because I ran through a large chunk of the budget earlier this month on little girl clothes :)

Re: Weekend plans?

  • Today we are going to look at paint colors again (ridiculous). We are going to get some groceries. Then I get to finish laundry. Woo.

Tomorrow we are hopefully painting the new boards for the eaves of our house.

    So much excitement here ;)

DH works 7a-11a both days, we have a grad party to go to tomorrow and outside chores.

    Not much else going on
  • Hopefully catching up on rest and relaxation! I'd like to do something other than grocery shop and laundry, but have no plans.

  • Back at work all weekend after a wonderful 2 weeks off.  All good things must come to an end, I suppose.

  • We just looked at a couple houses; both a bust. Not much else planned. I had originally wanted to go to the pool, but it's rainy and overcast.

We had a last minute showing on our house this morning. Getting ready for that while 9 months pregnant, with H working, a whiny, clingy toddler and possibly the most in-the-way dog in the world was really fun.
Hannah is currently not napping in her bed, hurling things over the side, because she is just so refreshed from that 2 minute car nap she took.

  • We woke up this morning to a dead sump pump and water up above our ankles in the basement, so everything is ruined. Right now we're just waiting for the new pump to get the water down. We need to clean the house and I have homework to do, but napping is the top priority after this morning!

  • L and I made french toast for breakfast and then went yardsailing. She scored a pink kidcraft kitchen for $60. It is in great shape, but the last little girl went at it with permanent marker. I am not sure if it can be removed or if I need to repaint it.

Home to clean and organize. My house is gross. My kitchen is the only thing that stays clean.

Tomorrow is church and lunch with the IL's and then our church life group BBQ at our friends house. It's a busy one!

  • Why does the ice cream truck feel like 2:30 on a Saturday is an appropriate day & time for tooling through a family-friendly neighborhood??? It is nap-time. And Jack's "rest time". Plus, people are out and about on Saturday. Even if their kids are older, families are busy in weekends.
The past 2 years it came on Thursday late afternoons/evenings, which was perfect.

H is golfing 36 holes today with BIL in WI at some fancy-schmancy courses. So SIL and I took our boys to a wonderful local farmer's market and out to lunch. Later this afternoon, the boys and I are making an appearance at our next-door neighbor's 2nd bday party.
Tomorrow we are taking Jack to his 1st Cubs game for my birthday, which is on Tuesday. So excited to eat all the ballpark food!!

ours comes every evening at 5:30 and 8. Both are completely ok times for children to be eating ice cream. NOT.

It just left. So driving around playing music for like 50 minutes!! Jack bounced out of bed and was like, "I'm done resting! I hear the ice cream truck!" I had to negotiate and remind him we were going to a bday party later, IF he laid back down and he'll MAYBE get to eat cake and ice cream too. But only of he rested and not at all if he got up and got ice cream from the truck.
    Geez, EVERY night @lbrown9807‌ Overkill.

  • We went to the zoo this morning with BIL, SIL and our nephew (10 months). 3 kids under 2 is a whole lot of kids to be left alone with for the 20 min it took to get food from the food court (the reason we pack our lunches when we go). We got caught in the rain and came home to nap.

Tomorrow will be the first day since before 2.0 that we have the house to ourselves. We will be cleaning and doing laundry and not much else!

@Flamingemu‌ If its a smoother surface draw over the permanent marker with a dry erase marker and wipe it off. Should take care of it. Test it on a small area first, and maybe even test it on a slightly textured surface.

  • We went to my hometown yesterday for my grandma's 90th birthday party. The 2 hr ride there was pretty terrible, but both boys slept the whole way home. I'm glad we decided to go.

And I need to share. My 7 day old rolled over belly to back yesterday after a few minutes of tummy time. I know it's a fluke, I'm not crazy, but do you ever have those moments where you look at your kids and think, "What!?!?"

You are either very brave or very crazy to buy something covered in sharpie. Can't decide which.

It is only in a couple spots. I can deal with sharpie if I don't have to pay full price for something in great shape.

  • We had a great weekend. Friday was my bday, so we went to a park that has a small river that runs through it, so we hiked & picnicked & walked around in the water. DS love love loved it!

Saturday we had family over for a BBQ.

Today we went to Liberty state park, which is where you can take a ferry to the Statue of Liberty, Ellis island, etc. We didn't do the ferry, but we picnic lunched, walked the waterfront, and got ice cream.

Yes! This baby keeps rolling on to her side any time she's on a flat surface for more than 10 minutes!

keagan was rolling consistently from belly to back by 4 weeks. Some babies do it really early. Then there was Colby who didn't do it until like 6 months haha
