  I had never heard of a zerbert until a few days ago when my husband said it! I don't know how this never came up in the 5 years we've known each other.

  I call it a raspberry, but if The Cosby Show calls it a zerbert, that makes it legit in my book.

  We use the term Raspberry and Zerber interchangeably.

  My grandmother always said "zerbert", so that's what I call them. My DH calls them "rayzbayreez" (that's his pronunciation). My 7-year-old calls them zerberts, too.
