Our son is 9 weeks and is getting the really dry flaky patches behind his knees & has generally dry flaky skin. Anyone recommend great lotions/washes to help with this? We were just using Johnson's every other night.
I love Burt's bees all natural fragrance free lotion. It even helped with baby acne! Took it away in 2 days. I used it twice a day. We put it on her after baths and in the morning but lately I just so after bath and she hasn't really needed it a second time.
We just asked the pediatrician this very question today. She said there is a special Aveno lotion for eczema that is really good. We have Aveno Calming and Comforting and haven't looked into it yet.
Is it just dry and flakey or is it rough and does it have redness to it? If so it could be eczema which my LO has...ped has us using la Roche posse lipikar baume AP

My only concern really is the patches behind his knees where it sees no air thanks to his rolls:) It doesn't look like eczema it's just dry. Thanks everyone, our pedi just told us cerave or cetaphil so will start trying all of the above!
Cetaphil (the one specifically for eczema). DD has always had bad skin and the pedi finally said it's eczema (she's 2). The cetaphil is the only thing that has really helped. We use it for the twins now too bc they have dry, flaky skin and it has a great consistency... Good for baby massages! It's not oily and gross.
My baby is 8 weeks old and has definitely had some serious baby acne. Now I'm noticing it get better but now he has really scaly skin on his face, especially at the inner ends of his eyebrows. I see some dry scaly skin on his scalp too. Could it all be cradle cap? Or healing baby acne? Does anyone else's LO have something similar?

DS2 has this, also behind his ears. The pediatrician said it gets bad in the summer and is seborrhea. He recommended 1% hydrocortisone. Haven't tried it yet but he said a really small amount should clear it up quickly.

Lo has this same progression. Pedi suggested aquaphor healing ointment can be mixed in with hydrocortisone 0.5% for face. For scalp, the usual cradle cap treatments if desired. Foes UR Lo scratch the fade a lot? Mine does but I thought they weren't supposed to have itch yet?
Re: Baby skin dryness-what do you use?
I let it go away on its own unless it's pretty bad and peeling and then use coconut oil. I use it on his butt, too.
