We had a onesie for each day we were there and then one picture outfit and a prettier outfit for going home because everyone said we needed one. We ended up using everything.
We have two going home outfits, one in newborn size and one 0-3 since we don't know how big he will be. We also have his little brother shirt because I want him in it when DD comes to the hospital in her big sister shirt. When we had DD she did not need anything besides her going home outfit.
A few different take home outfits in both NB and 0-3mo, because I'm indecisive. However, MIL has said she'd like to purchase his coming home outfit, and I'm a little scared.
For DS we packed tons of sleepers & onesies. He used almost none. For DD we packed about 4 of each. She spit up on every single one & we had my mom bring us more from home. All that to say, you never know what your baby will do. The hospital of course will keep blankets & tee's or onesies stocked. Or at least ours did.
I literally have like 10 different outfits I'm bringing for her. I'm having a csection so well be there a few days.. And I can't seem to decide which outfit I want. So I'm bringing them all . Plus most family is out of town and won't be there.. So they will all be getting lots of pictures of my pretty girl!
We're going to a birth center, so no clothes are provided. I've got 2 long sleeve kimono tops, two sleepers, and her going home outfit (which is just a cute sleeper that her big bro also wore home). We should be home within 12 hrs after she's born so I didn't feel the need to pack too much.

I'm literally going to play dress up and nap with my baby that first month.i want to try on everythingggg. DH would kill me if I took 10 outfits . I totally see why you're doing it.
With DS and this baby we packed 3-4 outfits including the going home outfit. There will be a lot of picture taking and I wanted them in some cute little outfits during the day. But if your hospital provides the t shirts then its really your preference whether or not you want the extra laundry when you get home lol
Just the going home outfit. New babies are checked so frequently by the pediatricians that it's best they are in the simple hospital issued kimono tops. I have a nice Aden and Anais swaddle and a few cute hats/head bands packed if I feel like she needs to look fancy
I have a couple since the weather has been unpredictable lately. I have 2 newborn and two 0-3 month outfits. One for hotter weather and one for cold weather. (It's been foggy/rainy and in the 60s lately but who knows if that will change in the next couple weeks.)
