I am not starting an immunization debate. I am just curious.
Bexsero is a newer vaccine against Meningitis B. In Canada we are vaccinated against Meningitis C routinely. This new vaccine is optional and at the additional cost to the family to pay for the vaccine and doctors fees. My doctor has asked if we would like it.
My question. Has anyone had their child receive this new one? Or has anyone been offered the option. I am always wary of new vaccines so I'd like to hear some thoughts. I can't really find a concrete answer on what the difference is between B and C.
Thank you

It seems to be newer over here but not so new in the UK. Definitely have to ask more about it.

This article comes from the manufacturer so is obvioulsy biased but still pretty informative.

I can't tell if it's readily available, though, or if it's still in trials. I'm going to ask about it at our checkup on the 22nd.

I'm against any medication that hasn't been in wide circulation for long enough to know long term effects. But that's just me. Everyone has to do what works best for them.
