Let me preface this by saying - baby C and I are fine physically.
Ladies, can I please get some hugs today? I just had a very traumatic experience this morning and am having a really hard time coping with it. I hit a deer on my way to work this morning and did not kill it but injured it pretty badly. For those of you who know me well - I am the biggest animal lover and I feel so horrible. At first it was sitting in the road so I called 911 and they were going to have a sheriff come out to take care of it, but then it got up and moved off the road. It was very obvious that it had a broken hind leg. The sheriff said that it's no longer a public safety concern and that now they'll just need to let nature take its course. I am not well versed in wildlife rehabilitation but I would gather that the likelihood of it recovering is slim, if even that. The very last thing I want for it is to suffer. It also had a friend with it, so I kept apologizing to its friend saying I was so, so, so sorry. 
I can't shake the immense feeling of guilt I have - I was driving too fast, we live in a heavily wooded area with lots and lots of deer, it was earlier than I am normally on the roads and I KNOW that it's more common for deer to cross the roads before rush hour (well as 'rush' as our rush hour gets around here). It just broke my heart. My H rushed down to be with me, and comfort me - I am forever grateful that he doesn't dismiss my love for these animals as silly or unnecessary. He knew right away I was crushed.
I'm heart broken for it. And for its friend. Can I please get some hugs? Could I ask for you to send positive vibes its way for a miracle recovery and/or a quick and painless passing?

BFP #4 11/6/12. EDD 7/16/13~my birthday! No sac found @ 5w1d, betas not increasing. Natural m/c started 11/20/12.

While I am grateful that you and baby are fine physically, I am so, so sorry that this happened to you. I would have been so upset too; it's a very traumatic event. Sending warm thoughts to you, the deer and its buddy (((hugs)))
