Party Favors for Baby Shower

What kind of party favors are you giving to your guest for the baby shower? I have a huge family and sent out 125 invites. I know, a lot right! I want to give out something cute, but need something reasonably priced, since I will need quite a few. Any suggestions?

I know it seems like a lot, but I have one Aunt alone that had 23 kids! My mom and friend are doing all the planning, I just feel like this is one thing I can do to take the pressure of everything else off of them being that I am off of work right now and really have nothing going on. Thanks for the advise on something edible, I think I might go to a local cookie shop and maybe order some safari themed sugar cookies.

Are you related to the Duggars? I didnt think it was physically possible to have 23 kids in your child bearing years. My vagina is crying at the thought.

You know that you dont need to invite all 23 cousins, right? Only the ones you are closest to. Logistically, how are you going to open every present and not have your shower last 5+ hour?

With DS I did sugar cookies from my favorite bakery, then I put them in a cute clear bag with a jungle sticker on it that said Thank You. This time since my sun is having a very small "sprinkle" with about 9 of my very close family and friends I'm giving everyone a bottle of pink OPI fingernail polish with a Thank You tag on it. I also don't mind helping out at all. I kinda feel like its a thank you from me since I will be buying all the fingernail polish.

The hosts for our shower did personalized jars of honey, tea, sugar cookies and a personalized candy bar.

My mom did chocolate dipped pretzel rods for my shower favors. Similar to the pic below...but used dark chocolate as base, then a variety of white & light blue chocolate striping, sprinkles & baby foot print candies which matched the nursery color scheme. They were individually wrapped with blue ribbon curling ribbon and pacifier charms. They were very cute, fit in a nice candy jar on the dessert table, and they were yummy! Everyone loved them - especially since it wasn't just another knick knack. Wish I had a pic to post, but won't see the photos until next week.

I'm from Georgia and I've been to a lot of baby showers, but I don't recall ever going to one with favors for the guests (guess it's just not popular here). People here expect to give gifts to mom and baby, not to get something for themselves, so unless it's really important to you (or major etiquette where you live), I vote for skipping favors. It will give you one less thing to stress about. Having a big shower is pretty popular here too. I've been to several showers that had at least 50 guests. My shower guest list will be pretty long, much like yours. I have a ton of family and live in a pretty close-knit community. I think that most of the ladies at my church, my family, and my friends would feel hurt if not invited, rather than annoyed at being invited to a shower with a lot of people. Besides, just because you invite 125 people doesn't mean that they will all be there! Just try not to stress about it. Relax and enjoy your shower!

Yeah, baby showers are kinda a big deal here, culturally anyway. I come from a huge Mexican/Italian/American family, and I would probably get hate mail if I didn't invite everyone! I don't want to get married because of how huge the wedding would be! I really like the idea with the chocolate dipped pretzels. That seems super affordable and cute!

Definitely food. And I don't have a big family, but I can see why you'd feel obligated to invite all the cousins, because picking and choosing feels a little uncomfortable. I'm guessing its a co-ed shower? Unless she has 23 daughters. In which case holy freakin crap.

My Mom had super cute favors for my shower... everyone got a little purple box tied shut with a ribbon. Inside was a tiny flowerpot and a pack of lavender seeds. It had growing directions and a sweet little story.

Just lurking here....I recently hosted my best friend's baby shower and for party favors I did different candies in blue and got blue hand sanitizer(sp?) and I put it in a mason jar with a thankyou. There were only 9ppl there so this was not to expensive. Now, for 125 people this may be too expensive but hopefully this will give you some idea as to what to do. But, like PP's have said you should not have to worry about party favors, the hostess is the one that does all that.

My sister threw my shower and made a lavender body scrub that she put into small canning jars with a note that said "from Abby's shower to yours". I thought it was incredibly sweet and unique and she said it was fairly easy and inexpensive. Good luck!

I had my neighbor, who bakes, make macarons. She did them in the colors of my shower (purple and blue) and then we put them in cute cellophane bags with colored ribbon and a pacifier charm.

They were a hit. I didn't have any to take home afterwards.

Our nickname for the baby (team green) is Bean and this has spread among the family like wildfire. The shower was an adorable Finding Nemo theme to go with our nursery, and my hostesses did an adorable favor with jelly beans and swedish fish in cellophane bags. I've been to enough showers with trinket items that just got left behind, but for this, everyone made sure to take some home and the only extras were actually made as extras for us. I couldn't agree more with the edible option for a shower favor.

Food is definitely the way to go! For the shower my mom threw, she going sugar cookies, and put colored M&M in with the cookie with ribbon on it.

My MIL and her sister also threw a shower, and they did homemade chocolates and dipped pretzel rods. Homemade chocolate is so easy, and affordable. I made some as part of my wedding favors.

So I ended up going with the chocolate dipped pretzel rods! Thank you so much tinkerbell019 for the idea. It cost about $30 for all the ingredients and they were so easy to make! They came out so nice and are so yummy!
