Swaddling/Putting baby down drowsy

Hello! I've been an occasional lurker and thought I'd start posting :-) My DD Cecelia is 10 weeks now. Swaddling is apparently against the law in daycares in MN; DD started in daycare last week and is not swaddled for her naps there and has not been napping well. We will be stopping the swaddle this weekend at home (we have been leaving one arm out) to help her out at daycare. Any tips on making this transition easier? Also we want to try putting her down drowsy as I think that will also help her there so any tips for that? If there is a previous thread on this let me know! Thanks!

  • There have been a few on the stopping swaddling thing. Good to know about the day care law in mn. I had no clue! I better quit swaddling soon too!

  • Jack loved the swaddle at first.  Then suddenly there was war.  Jack always kicked the swaddle blankets butt so we decided to let one arm out.  After noticing he seemed happier and was able to just focus on sleeping (not fighting his swaddle) we decided to just scrap it all together.

DD#1 thought 'put me down drowsy' was a bad joke. Seriously. Put me down once I've been out cold for 20 minutes and *maybe* I won't screen bloody murder as you slowly back away.

    DD#2 is cool with it.

Just wanted to put that out there. Some babies simply will have none of it, and it's not that you're doing something wrong.
