Miscarriage/Pregnancy Loss

My Tattoo

Yaz14Yaz14 member
So here's the tattoo DH and I got to commemorate our loss. DH has the same tattoo on his left arm. It's a fantail because according to Maori legend (DH is part Maori) fantails are the spirits of the dead and when you see one it means someone who has passed is visiting you. Although neither of us are superstitious when I had my mc we kept seeing a tiny little fantail hanging around outside our bedroom window which is both very eerie and reassuring. I'm so in love with it :) Just wanted to share.

EDIT: ARRRRGGGHHH my computer says no every way I try to add the damn photo. I've tried copying and pasting straight to this post, adding it as a file and adding it to my siggy. Can anyone help? I really want to show you guys.

EDIT: Ok hopefully this works. Here's the tinypic link:

Thanks @EllyD14

 • I don't know what a fantail is... so I am going to go google it. I am not sure how to post pics either... I never do it, lol.

 • Have you tried uploading it to tinypic and inserting that code?

 • That's so cute! I saw two white butterflies hanging around my house a few weeks ago (lining up with when my second baby's heart stopped beating) and I had a feeling that those were my babies although we did not know we had lost this one yet. I'm thinking about getting white butterflies to commemorate their memory.
