There has been a sudden influx of brand new posters posting random topics and replies over the last couple days that seems to coincide with the introduction of the new bump app.
First, may I direct your attention to the READ ME FIRST post in case you skipped over it....

Lots of good info in there about how our community works, acronyms, and how to make a siggy. Good tool.
And yes, we are a community. We have gotten to know each other over the past few months. We talk about pregnancy... sure, babies... of course, but we also laugh and have fun as friends and support each other when needed. Please don't treat us like your personal Google, if you do you're going to get flamed. Fair warning.
Please feel free to lurk and see if we're a good fit for you. Intro and jump in when you're comfortable. If you post a totally random thread we're going to have fun with it. This is where a sense of humor and sarcasm will do you loads of good. If you post something offensive or hurtful you are going to get called out on it. This is where a (real) apology will save you. If you post something completely dumb we are going to tell you it is completely dumb....let me repeat that.... we will tell you IT is completely dumb... we're not telling you YOU are completely dumb, we are not attacking you. No need to feel sorry for our husbands, children, pets.... unless you like bingo. We do not hand out rainbow and glitter unicorn farts around here. There's some really smart (and smart ass) women on this board who tell it like it is. And please(!) remember the following... A difference of opinion =/= Bullying
Labor Buddies have already been assigned. For the love of decency don't ask to be paired up when we don't even know you. If you're cool a group may adopt you. There are ticker change posts every day if you want to share how excited you are about how far along you are getting. If you want to share a bump pic wait for the HDBD (Hump Day Bump Day) thread on Wednesdays. Flame Free Friday Confessions are never flame free. We eat Tacos on Tuesdays. Sloths are awesome! A question mark makes any insult ok. We say big girl words like sex, vagina, and penis... not baby dance, hamburger, and turtle. Don't you dare post a picture of your mucus plug!!

BJ posted about a new Bump 2.0 app available in the Apple App Store.
I have a droid and haven't looked to see if it's available for droid users yet, I just use my mobile browser.

If you've never been here before, hi and welcome! PLEASE read this through. This board is a GREAT place and is full of wonderful, smart, compassionate women. Also sometimes snarky and feisty, so I hope you're wearing your big girl panties.
A few things: many of us have been here since January/February and to the extent you can become friends with strangers on the internet, we have. Of course we welcome new people, and of course this is a public forum...so you are so welcome.
But let me paint a picture for you: imagine you and your friends are at a bar (wishful thinking at this point, amirite?!) You've been there since dinner time, the night is going great, and now it's almost closing time. Then out of nowhere 100 new people burst in, wanting to share that last perfect hour of the evening. It's not a total surprise, a bar is a public place... But it still changes a LOT.
That's what has happened with this board and the new app. So be patient, please. If you stick around and participate, you'll find your place. If you comment only to ask google-worthy medical questions or on discussions of controversial things, you will find yourself not fitting in to our community.
The choice is yours, new potential friend. Choose wisely.
