I just wanted to check in with all of the team green ladies to see how you are doing. Have you picked a boy and girl name? Any second thoughts on being team green? Did you pick your going home outfit?
We have a boy name we are about 90% sure on but no girl name yet. I'm glad we are team great but I do have my moments when I I really wish I knew. No going home outfit yet. We bought a couple gender neutral outfits but no going home outfit. There is not much out there to choose from.
Re: Team Green Check-In
Just thought about going home outfits. Will probably wait until more fall clothes are out to choose though. That was so fun last time!
I was just thinking earlier today that I definitely think team green is easier second time around.
Fall 2013: Fertility treatments = first BFP!!
07/23/2013 Drew Steven born at 5lb 12oz
02/10/14: Surprise, spontaneous BFP!
EDD: 10/11/2014 Stick, baby, stick!!
We were Team Green w/DD too I've been thinking the new baby could wear the same going home outfit as her. Very simple little outfit with ducks.
We have had our boy and girl names since before I was pregnant last time. They are Esther Rose and Byron Jack. All family names with one from each side.
I'm not high risk so I have no ultrasounds scheduled. I think the hardest thing for me is having to pick two names because we are not even close to picking a girls name. If we have a boy we are most likely going with Jared William.
@jcsumm0 I love the name Julia. If we weren't trying to use a family name from DHs side then that would be at the top of my list. DD got her first and middle name from my side so we are trying to pick from DHs side. There just aren't many girls names in his family tree that I would consider using.
@JessAnnJ Julia was my grandmother's name
@MissMandyD I like the first one best. I think it's less busy and will look better in pictures.
I haven't even though about a going home outfit until I read this....so umm yeah I got nothing! Even with this being baby #3 we have nothing from our boys so we are starting all over. Just bought the crib and started to paint. I was much more prepared at this point with the boys!! Guess that's what happens with 2 kids and 55 hour work weeks.
Great job team green ladies!!
We have names figured out. Just finalized that yesterday. We have the room painted but thats about it for our prep for now. No going home outfit yet.
:-O haha. We know a boy will be Drew Thomas, Jr., but still up in the air about a girl's name.
We are currently in the midst of a full kitchen remodel so no baby prep yet. All the talk about going home outfits is making me want to browse at BRU when I go pick up my maternity support belt later!
We don't have a going home outfit picked out, not sure that this will really be a huge priority.. A sleeper will do just fine.
We have a boy and girl name picked for now, with a few back ups in case the name just doesn't seem right once the baby is born.
I've been encountering lots of pregnant women lately (work, friends, etc) who aren't finding out the sex. I think it's refreshing.
Cliff notes since I went on a bit of a tangent about the name...
1. Going strong with Team Green!
2. We don't have a single thing for this baby yet but The Baby Depot with Burlington Coat Factory is still carrying the crib and dresser we got for our son. We love it and will be getting the same one for this baby, just need to find time to make the 2 hour trip to get it.
3. No take home outfit yet but we will be bringing a boy and girl outfit with us, just like we did with my son. I liked not having him go home in a gender neutral outfit and want the same for this baby.
4. Boy name - Marcus with no middle name decided on yet.
Girl name - Husband likes Alexandra and I like Adrianna.
As for names, we only have a boy name decided on and it's only the first name so far. Marcus will be the name is this is a boy. For a girl, my husband currently likes Alexandra but I'm not crazy about it. I really love the name Adrianna but he's not crazy about my name choice! It's annoying and our baby will never be named. We told my in-laws about our current favorites for a girl and MIL instantly liked Alexandra and said we can call her Lexi as a nickname...I hate nicknames. She didn't say anything about my name choice and I know it's because all she could think was Anna would be a cute nickname and our niece is named that. I HATE ALL THE NICKNAMES AND DON'T WANT THEM USED TO BEGIN WITH. How on earth they figured out a way to call Xavier by nickname is beyond my comprehension because it's not a name I think should be shortened in any manner.
We've picked our names and barring any last minute changes think we'll stick with them. For Boy: Zachary Conor; For Girl: Caitlin Rose.
My mom came to visit and went to town on the Layette and bought us almost too many gender neutral newborn and 0-3 month outfits, so we just have to decide which one is the "going home" one. I'm not so into the whole pink and blue thing, so think we'll probably stick with a gender neutral going home outfit. I'm probably only going to wash some of the clothes and leave the tags on the rest - as if the baby is born larger - the newborn stuff will be outgrown pretty quick and we may end up returning some.
We're still pretty relaxed about not finding out. We have a casual list going that we add names to everytime we think of one we like, but we have yet to go back through the list and narrow it down. And most people that we mention not finding out to are pretty excited for us!
IKEA crib and dresser are assembled! The room, which had first been a guest bedroom, is painted Martha Stewart 'Milk Pail".
Going home outfit was on my registry and was purchased, so WOOHOO!! Although not sure if a wrap-front/kimono-style would be better.
I'm still going strong with Team Green too! When people ask and I tell them I don't know what I'm having, they say well when will you find out, and I always say after I deliver...people don't get it! We don't have a going home outfit yet either, I think we will wait to see what we get from our baby shower. I know my Great Aunt plans on buying 1 girls outfit and 1 boys outfit, sooo we may bring her picks to the hospital with us, as she is more like my grandma to me, and I know she would be tickled pink by it.
We have got most of our nursery together. The walls are all painted, we have a rocking chair that my MIL & FIL got for us, and 2 dressers that I had as a child in there. My mom is buying the crib, soo that's really it. We are going to use the low dresser as a changing table, so none of that needed for me.
Oh and as for names. We are pretty set on Oliver Ryan (last names sounds like Tote) for a boy, but as for a girl...we are lost!! I really like Genevive...but DH is not sold. His stupid parents asked for an idea of what our names were and then poo-poo'd all of them, so I think he is trying to think of what their opinions will be. We LOVE Claire, but my sisters LO's middle name is Claire, and when we ran using it as a first name by her, she said nothing...so I'm taking that as a No...I'd love to hear any suggestions though!
Have you picked a boy and girl name? Yes!!! Since about 20 weeks.
We don't have a going home outfit yet, but there's still time for that:)
Just can't wait for LO to be here! So ready:)
