Hi ladies, I'm relatively new, so please bare with me if this has been discussed previously. I noticed when reading the TWW threads that often under 'timing,' members note the frequency of sex prior to O (like -5,-4,+1...) and I wondered when TTC, why some members only have sex once or twice prior to O during their most fertile days? Is it because life doesn't always allow us to do the deed every day, or is there something to staggering timing that I don't know?

Because life. And also what Darcy said - can't pinpoint FW exactly. For example, this month I got a positive OPK a lot earlier than I expected so we only hit -2 and -1. We tried on O but were too drunk to get the job done. It was still fun though.

We try to have ED sex in my fertile week and EOD around it. ED sex gets old, exhausting and painful really quick...plus the on-demand schedule can be stressful. Ultimately it depends on what you and your DH prefer.

And it does take 36 hours for semen to fully replenish. With no sperm issues, daily isn't going to cause an issue in that respect.

Life. I have a toddler whose schedule is in flux. DH's work schedule is nuts. It's when-we-can. We hit -6, -5, and -3, and then O came 3 days later than expected. Pffffft.

Every other week I work a night shift, so I don't see my husband Monday thru Friday. If I think I'm going to ovulate on Tuesday (best guess) then we try to hit Saturday and Sunday.

So yeah. Like other people said, because life.

Andplusalso, after opks, temping, and crazed, scheduled sex month after month, you just get exhausted in general and just don't give a shit anymore. As my girl Elsa says, "Let it go, let it goooo!"

I agree with @Joy2611‌. We have sex because we WANT to. Not just because a chart, or an OPK, says we should. We're new into TTC and before things get super clinical, we want to enjoy the intimacy of TTC.

My vag hurts just thinking about every day sex. After looking at FF, we only average 5 times a month of sex. Our plan is to step it up this cycle but I'm not going to focus on it happening every other day. I'll drive myself crazy.

We don't schedule it. Sometimes it's once a week. Sometimes I get random school girl horny and want it everyday for a week straight. We would possibly try to do a better job with timing if it proves difficult to conceive this time around.
