Living children and pictures of living children are welcome here, however if your pictured child is an infant (< a year old), please do place a warning at the beginning of your post to alert ladies who are having a hard day.  You do not have to be active on the PAL board in order to be a member of this check-in, however, if you plan on posting on the main board please post an intro there.

All are welcome to join us!  Please give us an intro with the following information if you wish: name(s)/age(s) of your child(ren), EDD(s) and where you are in your TTC journey.

Hey Pretty Lady, thanks for checking in! :)

I am starting to get the POAS itch... It's only 8dpo, so I'm really trying to at LEAST hold out until 10dpo. I've felt pretty bloated today, and weird random nausea but I'm sure it's the progesterone. So, I'm trying my hardest to not test! I think we need a super awesome thread that requires constant contact so I won't be able to test! haha!!

QOTW- When people don't use their turn signals while driving! ARGH!

Hugs for all of you ladies who need them! Anyone else in their 2ww?

I have never done the wondfos before. Reading these lines for the first cycle have been puzzling. Maybe I should have saved them to see the differenc as my cycle goes on. Quick question for those who use them: with the instructions it has two possible positives, a darker test line and lighter control and two equal color lines. Are these levels of the Lh surge?
With Wondfos, I'm pretty sure that it's considered a positive if both lines are the same color/darkness and also if the test line is darker. I would test again in a few hours and keep testing until the second line starts to fade out, so you're sure you've caught your surge and can stop HIO.

@rslh10 step away from the pee sticks! Easier said than done, I know. I'm not in my 2ww, but I will need willpower when I am, so let's hold each other accountable, okay? One thing that works for me is to just go pee really quickly in the morning before I have a chance to grab a test. That way I'm not tempted. I know some ladies who have gone so far as to give all their HPTs to their SO to keep until a certain DPO. Good luck, lady! Stay strong.

Hi @bookishmama! Thanks again for the check-in. I'm trying to be more involved each week, and I appreciate you checking on me :)

@kj808 Looks like you're in your FW. Good luck!
Yes it looks that way, but honestly i'm not quite sure what's going on with me at the moment. I took my Femara on CD3-7 and triggered with an hcg shot on Sunday, then I had really bad cramps all day Tuesday so I *think* I may have O'd Tuesday. My temps haven't gone up consistently yet though so I have no crosshairs, but I'm wondering if the meds are throwing off my temps. There is also a possibility that my thermometer isn't working properly. So annoying not knowing what's going on! Of course I tried googling to find out about meds and BBTs but I can't get a straight answer. We are doing timed intercourse this month and BD'd when we were told to by the doc so hopefully our timing is okay anyway.

QOTW: Unfortunately I have a lot of pet peeves, having borderline OCD ;) I guess one would be people who park in 2 spaces, or who park SO crooked in one space that another car can't fit in the space next to them. Drives me nuts!

  • @bookishmama thanks for the check in. Week is blah but one more week until vaca so there is that. Still waiting to get a decision back on the job I went for. Hope to hear soon. If I don't get it we will be on the TTC train full force but if I get it I will be benched for a few cycle to ensure the protection of fmla.

  • I'm glad AF showed up for you @bookishmomma

Good luck @rslh10 only a few more days!

stephy1221 Hope you hear back soon on the job front

It rained here on the 4th again, so we didn't get to go to our club. We did see some community fireworks driving home from my in laws. So it wasn't a complete bust. I went in today for hopefully my last beta related to the loss. I will probably actually scream if it's not negative this time after a second AF.

My biggest pet peeve is people who park in spots they shouldn't like handicapped or parents with kids. Drives me nuts.

@michieu79 OMG I just got rid of my MIL after a long 48 hours. If she ever asked to live with us I would move out of my own house. I have no advice on OPKs. I have to use digis because I go nuts trying to compare lines.

@rslh10 You can do it! Just hold out a little longer.

@kj808 I hope you had perfect timing! Sorry things are confusing. Just go by what your doc says.

@stephy1221 Have fun on your vacation!

@mara005 Good luck this cycle and hope you get lots of time to relax on our trip.

@littlecookie FX crossed tight for negative betas!

Sorry I missed last week. I couldn't get the internet to work at my parents' house. I had my SIS done last week (to check for scar tissue) and I'm thankful to say it was normal. There were some enlarged blood vessels that he said were strange but didn't seem concerned at all. I'll ask him about it next time I see him. I'm expecting a call from him any day with the results of my blood tests. He said he wants to meet again sometime soon to come up with a plan. I still think I'm going to skip this month. I have SIL's bachelorette party 8-| in a couple of weeks and a wedding in Ohio on August 2nd so I really don't want to have to deal with the worry of another mc. I asked if he would consider Femara for my next cycle and he said yes, but he doesn't think I really need it. Ladies who are taking it: do you have to trigger with it?
ETA: I almost forgot @bookishmomma ! Yay for CD2!!! I can't remember, do you wait this cycle out or are you cleared to try right away?

Yes, we are cleared to TTC this cycle. The only thing that would change that plan is if the doc finds anything (polyps, fibroids, etc.) during my hysteroscopy next week. But I'm optimistic that everything will look a-OK because I've never had issues with any of that stuff in the past.

I took Femara and yes I did the hcg trigger with it. I didn't HAVE to do it but my RE felt that it would give me my best chance to catch ovulation with timed intercourse so I did it. Hopefully it worked.

  • @bookishmomma thanks for the check-in!!  Good luck at your hystercopy next week.  I hope they don't find anything and you are cleared to TTC this cycle!!

@MichleU79 FX that you had great timing this month!!  I have a love hate relationship with opks...the digis are so expensive but like you said at least you get a smiley face!

@rslh10 FX for you this cycle!!!!!!!!!

@kj808 I didn't temp my first two cycles on femara but did the last one.  My temps were SO crazy before and after O.  I was able to confirm O but my chart looked more like an EKG in the end.  FX for you this cycle!!

@stephy1221  I totally understand your decision to wait until you're covered by FMLA.  It saved us last pregnancy!  I know our country is so behind most countries in the world but it's better than nothing!

@goldengirl84  It sounds to me like a bachelorette party and wedding are good reasons to wait another month!!  I always triggered on femara but that is because my RE wanted to be aggressive.  Some REs start small with just giving you the femara to help you produce more than one follicle, some do it with TI or with IUI.  He'll monitor you on it right?  If your insurance covers the trigger shot I would ask if you could do that too, that way you don't have to wonder the whole cycle if you actually O'd or not.  FX for you my love!!

@mara005 ((hugs)) about CD2.  Have so much fun on your family vacation!!!!  You response to the QOTW is mine!!!!!!  I cannot stand that!  My twin sister is the worst.  She complains about how she can't even afford to take her kids out to a movie yet she is pregnant with her 4th.

@littlecookie FX that you beta was O!!  Come on AF come on!!!

@sarcaztic10  ((HUGS))  Is your doctor going to put you on progesterone next TTC cycle?  Yay for the move!!!!

AFM:  For those of you who are not on the TTCAL board, my DH and I decided to move to IVF.  Since I will be starting my doctorate in the September and teaching one course, we thought it would be less stressful to do an August IVF cycle instead of in the fall.  I'm currently on BCP until the first week of August.  I have to have an SSH (saline sonohystererogram) @goldengirl84 is that the same thing as your SIS?  After I have my SSH and they get all of the results back from my pre-IVF blood work (HIV, hepatitis..) the doctors will meet and discuss what protocol they are going to put on.  Meds should start the first week of August and egg retreival around the 18th of August.

My sister is due 8/15 with her 4th baby and it will be nice to have this distraction for myself while everyone is focusing on her.  We still barely speak to one another so I'm not going to tell her anything about what we are going through.  Since she'll be so busy she'll have no idea and we'll be able to keep it private.

The further along I get in this journey the less people I want knowing about our situation.  I'm not embarrassed, I just hate having to tell everyone who knows about the BFNs.  Most of my friends think we'll be taking a break until the fall, I hope I'll be able to surprise everyone!!

I'm really scared and nervous that we're not going to have any viable eggs after the ER and PGS testing.  I just pray that my low AMH is just one bad number, my body has successfully carried two healthy pregnancies and I hope I can do it one more time.

Sorry for my novel!!  ((hugs)) to all of you!

  • @frenchteachermama yes, he said he will monitor me on it but I won't have to trigger. I guess because I always ovulate on my own. He didn't even suggest it, I asked to be put on it. I said if it happens again, I want to know we tried everything. I will ask him again about the trigger.

The SIS is the same thing. It was so easy. No different than a regular pap + internal ultrasound. My friend IRL told me the longest story about her friend that went through exactly what you are going through. Long story short, she ended up having her rainbow baby. I couldn't help but think of you and I know you will have the same happy ending. I know what you mean about not wanting to tell everyone. I stopped sharing most of the details and just said we were going to wait until late Fall. It's so hard to have conversations with people about it because we have SO much knowledge and they respond with things like "maybe you're just too stressed out." We will all be rooting for you (and lots of healthy eggs) come August!!

I want to TP people that say I miscarried because I'm under too much stress. People have babies in war zones. I'm pretty sure my "first world problems" have nothing to do with my miscarriages...

@frenchteachermama That's so exciting that you're bumping up your IVF cycle AND starting your PhD program soon. I just know you've got great things on the horizon. I'm sorry that the drama with your sister continues. Are you by any chance the "older" twin because you definitely sound like the more mature one?!

    MOVING TO ADOPTION!

  • It's so hard to have conversations with people about it because we have SO much knowledge and they respond with things like "maybe you're just too stressed out." We will all be rooting for you (and lots of healthy eggs) come August!!

Ha! I'm actually the youngest by 9 minutes but I don't have borderline personality disorder so that helps!! DH and I were talking about what ifs after IVF if it doesn't work and he actually asked me about egg donors. It was nice to hear that he is thinking about our future too. I said "like my sisters eggs" and he said "hell no"!!!! Haha
