First off - sorry I've been MIA for over a week! Last I posted here, I think I was asking you girls if anyone ever had a pounding headache after stopping the prometrium suppositories. Well it had nothing to do with the prometrium. Along with a headache, I developed body aches, fever, chills and fatigue. And a little red rash on my back. My Dr took one look at it and told me it was shingles! I thought I was way too young to get that. But anyhow, she put me on an antiviral for a week (which I finished) and I'm doing much better now. But man, that was not fun!!
On to my ultrasound today, I told my Dr about the shingles. She was surprised that someone my age would get it but said that it could be in part due to the infertility stress (shingles is notorious for popping up when someone is under a lot of emotional stress). When she checked my follicles by ultrasound today (CD12), I had 4(!!!) mature follicles on my right side (none on the left because I have no ovary on my left). They measured at 21.3, 18.4, 18.0 and 17.1. And there are 3 more that are in the range of 16.1 to 16.7. I was so sure that my Dr would want to cancel and tell me to avoid sex in the next few days. But she asked me how I felt about twins and what I would do if I ended up pregnant with, say, 3. I said that I would do selective reduction. She said that if I was absolutely against selective reduction she would say we should cancel this cycle. But as it is, she said lets move forward. I'm gave myself the trigger shot just now and going in for insemination tomorrow AM!!
I'm just shocked that I had this response to Clomid this cycle. Last cycle I definitely didn't respond this well. My RE said "Maybe the antiviral interacted with the Clomid in such a way that it had a more potent response for you. Who knows?" She thinks that the risk of multiples for me is low but she said "If I was a betting woman, I would put my money on you ending up pregnant with one this cycle." I'm trying not to get too excited but I can't stop smiling since I left the RE office! I'm so excited (and a bit nervous for tomorrow).
The RE did tell me though to watch out for symptoms of OHSS in the next 2 weeks (extreme bloating, water weight gain, nausea, ovarian pain). She warned me that if that happened and I was pregnant, it could make for a very uncomfortable and painful time for me. So I'm crossing my fingers that I don't deal with that! Please sprinkle some baby dust for me! I'm hopeful that round 3 could (maybe) be it!!
Edited to add: I was so sure that going with the same dose of Clomid again this cycle (150mg) was a mistake for me ....I didn't respond that great to it last month so I figured we should just move on to an injectable. Well, goes to show how much I know!
