38w2d and lots of contractions today

I've been having BH for weeks, but today, they've been constant. Not intensifying at all (yet) and still very quick. My little guy seems more active than usual too.
Although I know these aren't real, I'm wondering of the frequency of them may mean that he may be on the way any day here.
(FYI, I have no idea if I'm dilated/effaced because my doctors don't check until 40w)

    Probably a good question for your healthcare provider since we don't know your exact situation. However, I do know some women have contractions for days or weeks, so I wouldn't bank on a sudden arrival.

    I have been 2 cm 80% effaced since June 30th with irregular contractions similar to yours. Still no baby.

    Call your doctor if you're concerned. Welcome to the 9 months pregnant club. Everyone's baby is in the way any day.

    I'm not concerned, just curious as a first-timer. Obviously he could come tomorrow or in 3 weeks, I was just wondering what others have experienced.

    I had contractions 8mins apart for an hour the other day. They stopped and I'm still pregnant. Other people's experiences aren't really helpful when it comes to your own personal labor.

    I asked my doctor if the frequency of the Braxton hicks/false labor contractions had anything to do with the start of real labor and was told (unfortunately) there is no correlation.
