Ameda Breast pump

Anyone have any experience with the amends purely yours breast pump? I got it from my insurance today. When I opened the box to check it out it looks soooo cheaply made! I'm wondering if I should purchase a different one or try it out first.

Re: Ameda Breast pump

  • I have the Ameda Purely Yours. Mine is over 3 years old, and I have never had an issue with it (used for two babies so far, for 1 year each time). I purchased it and did not receive through insurance, but I'm assuming they should be made the same? I don't think mine is cheaply made.

  • I had it and worked great.  Only used it for 10 months with DS but no problems during that time.

  • I love ours. I got it second hand since its one of the few that has a closed system.  It did great for us with DS1 and I plan to use it again for the twins.

  • I have one. I did have a problem with mine after several months but they have excellent customer service and replaced it. Medela spends more money on marketing so there name is out there more but I've tried both brands and not noticed a difference. I have also tried hospital grade pumps in both brands and not noticed a difference.

  • Yup, I have one and had no issues with it. It certainly doesn't look fancy but does a good job!
