She learned how to roll over yesterday morning, so the swaddle is gone now. She napped better in the afternoon than she normally does, and then slept 7:45pm-6am. I'm pretty sure I have the best baby ever.
Her own crib since about 7/8 wks. We originally wanted to move her at 4/5 wks, but she was such a quiet sleeper, it didn't bother us keeping her in our room longer.
We unswaddled Tessa's arms from 10pm to 2am last night and she was a wakeful disaster. Finally gave in and re swaddled at 2am after her 3rd feeding session, at which point she blissfully and immediately fell asleep.
Not. Ready. Yet.
I'm glad you had a great experience! Did she sleep on her tummy all night?
That's fantastic! I put my LO in a sleep sack with her arms out. Is that considered swaddling? If so, do I have to remove it when she starts rolling? I'm just worried about her being cold.
@MamaFantastic -She slept on her side (I think) all night. She's been doing the same for naps. I must also say that I deserved an easy baby. My first was the baby from hell, and my second was a sleeping disaster.
I tried leaving mine unswaddled for a nap because she had been flipping and flopping around trying to break out of the swaddle in her sleep. Poor thing just kept smacking herself in the face until she woke up so clearly she is not ready for freedom quite yet.
I'm so jealous. DD sleeps fine unswaddled for naps (usually in the swing or RnP that "hug" her - she will in her crib, but not nearly for as long). If we try to put her to sleep unswaddled at night she becomes a flailing disaster. Damn the startle reflex and flailing limbs!
Sooo jealous! It took DS a good 3 weeks to sleep without his arms going nuts. Now he seems to keep rolling and sleeping on his side, which is making me crazy nervous. Glad your LO is such a champ!!
@Katy0525 3 weeks!!! Not sure I can handle that! We did our 2nd night in swaddled last night & I'm a walking zombie! The most he did was 2 hours between feedings, so I was getting maybe an hours sleep at a time.
@kielpinskim I am sooo jeolous! Every night I pray that it will be the night of long sleep! Lord knows little fatty stocks up enough before bedtime to see him through to the morning!
I watched him last night & in his sleep, un swaddled, he is contorting enough to start to flip into his stomach. So swaddling is def out, just a matter of getting him to not swat himself awake so we can all get some sleep!
We are on night #2 of no swaddle. Im actually really proud of her! She sucks on her hand and flails for a little bit but then falls asleep on her own. Last night she slept from 830 to 5, fed, then back to sleep till 10am. Its going better than i thought it would
