baby acne

My little one has developed baby acne. For those of you experiencing this as well- are you putting anything on it?

Re: baby acne

  • I washed once a day with baby wash when my DS had it. Eventually it will just go away but I found that this and a light scrub with a soft wash cloth really helped.

  • I mostly just try to keep the area clean by lightly scrubbing it with a soft washcloth at bathtime.

I apply Neosporin to any scabby areas and Aquaphor to scaly or peely spots.

  • Not treating since it doesn't seem to bother him
  • I put breast milk on it and let it dry then coconut oil after her baths and it cleared it up in less than a week and hadn't been back yet!

I've been washing w a mild soap (unscented dove) every day. I also read about wiping a mixture of baking soda and water on it to cleanse, but have yet to try that.
We don't use lotion, but will use coconut oil occasionally.

The pedi said you don't need to do anything. It clears up on its own and doesn't bother them.

  • Normally I just wash once a day with a warm wash cloth. Or also use Johnson's hand/face baby wipes.

    Thanks everyone!!
  • Breast milk was a miracle cure!
  • Breast milk is a cure for everything I swear! DD had a little acne, rubbed some Breastmilk on it one day and it was gone the next!
