Sex of the baby

So I was talking with my doctor
and they said they don't do the sex of the baby anymore

In a few weeks I'll be getting my anatomy ultrasound and wondered if the tech would tell me if I asked
can anyone answer that?

    That's weird. My DR. told me if they can't tell during scan....then they don't do any elective ultrasounds just to see the gender. Maybe that's what they meant ?? I'm sure she would try to tell you since she's already in there to see baby.

    Yeah, they will tell you during the anatomy scan if you ask. I know they will not do an additional scan just to tell you. You could get one if you wanted, but since it wouldn't be considered medically necessary, your insurance would likely not cover it and the scans can be pretty costly sometimes. You can also go to a speciality place that does the 3d/4d scans and to find out as well but you you have to pay for those too.
