Any August moms considered high risk? Do high risk pregnancies normally go full term or early? Age and GD making it a high risk. Non stress tests twice a week starting today.

I am considered high risk for many reasons-
    1. I have GD, although they don't consider high risk if you aren't on insulin and I am not
    2. I had Pre-E last pregnancy
    3. My blood pressure is creeping up- last reading was 128/84 which is higher than normal for me.

It is Number 2 and 3 that they are sending me for weekly ultrasounds, weekly 24 hour protein checks and twice a week NSTs.

They will only deliver me early if something isn't right and thus far I have "passed" everything.

  • I'm a high risk because I had a stroke in March. I'm on Lovenox, and will soon change to Heprin. They are going to induce me at 39 weeks, and there's a really good chance that they will have to do a cesarean delivery (they don't want me to strain). My baby is perfectly fine, and she probably would go the full 40 weeks (or 1-2 weeks over that).

  • I'm high risk due to crohns disease. I have to watch for flares and monitor my meds closely as well as get growth scans to check cervix, fluid levels and baby's growth. I can also go into preterm labor and low birth weight are associated with having the disease especially if i flare.

That being said even with the disease being known to have these issues many go full term and have no issues/healthy babys so it could go either way.

  • Oh...I'll graduate from maternal fetal medicine 4 weeks from now (won't require further monitoring since I would have made it what's considered full term or 36weeks)

  • I'm high risk due to placenta previa and past uterine surgeries. My placenta migrated in the last few weeks and is now just low lying. I go on the 21st to have it checked again. If it is further away from my cervix, everything will be good. If not, I will have a scheduled c-section sometime around 38 weeks.
