ladies, help me fill in the blank.

For me yesterday, it was when I had daycare for LO and picked her up at 2:30, and by 4:30 I was texting DH to find out how much longer it would be before he got home (LO had a lot of tantrums while I.was trying to make dinner).

Today, it was when I drank my lunch. Luckily there was only rainbow sherbet and sparkling water (no alcohol so not nearly as bad as it sounds), but took 5 attempts to get LO down to nap today. Hopefully she wakes up in an hour/ or 1.5 hours and is in a good mood for a playdate. Other wise, it will be a long afternoon of waiting for Dad to get home.

I mostly work during the day, but on the rare occasion that I'm home all day, I do tend to need a break by 3 or 4 (DH gets home about 5). No shame in that.

Today was when I overheard the painters at our office: "Is a wa-zoo that musical instrument?" "No dude, that's a kazoo. A wazoo is your butt dude." I finally left for the day after listening to that for two hours, and blamed it on the paint fumes. (In hindsight, funny, but not while trying to take a call from a client.)

... you fall asleep before LO (of course LO is happily and safely playing in his crib).

... you finally have a friend over just to fall asleep and she give LO dinner (whoops!).

... you go to the grocery store more than once in one day just to get out of the house.

Your neighbor asks if your child has poop on his face and you have to explain, No its just cherry juice (from eating cherries off the neighbor's trees) and snot (from through a tantrum because you won't let him swing on the overloaded cherry tree branches) and dirt (from rolling around on the ground while throwing another tantrum because you won't let him pick ALL the cherries by himself because they have pits & he would choke)....

Thankfully their child is only a year older than Killian and they completely understand how it all worked out so both boys were stripped to nothing & popped into the kiddie pool.

it's 11:30pm and you and DH are barley conscious while DD is running around playing with a cat toy yelling "ball" and pitches an end-of-the-world hissy fit if you so much as think about taking it away from her and trying to get her to go to sleep (that was Monday night)

I take a shower for the express purpose of crying because it's more efficient that way, and because no one - no child, no husband, no cat - is touching me while I'm in the shower.

You are on a plane, flying home from seeing family and DD has a complete meltdown during landing. Then, the plane taxis for 15 freaking minutes and she screams bloody murder the entire time. It gets to the point that the flight attendant makes an announcement that everyone should stay seated so that the mom with the distraught baby can get off first. Yeah, that was us on Sunday. Poor DD was worn out from days of activity and hadn't had a decent nap that day. I think her ears were bothering her on the way down and it just pushed her over the edge when normally she would have handled it fine. People were coming up to me in the airport saying "bless your heart". I am sure they meant it in the southern way, of course : )

I love how our board helps me put everything into perspective & gives me a chance to know that we are not the only ones.

@jac409 that was REALLY nice of them to let you off first. Have been on flights where the distraught child is ignored and has to stay couped up on the plane as everyone else runs far, far, far away. Hope your DD is back to being well rested & herself soon.

@jsoubel - DH knows I am really mad & tires when that happens (if he notices). I hope it's improved because the feeling of needing to cry in the shower so you can be alone is awful.

I'd also like to throw out: You know that it's going to be a bad day when DD greets you first thing in the morning holding her diaper before you've had caffeine or a shower. Thankfully, everything was contained in her crib and she was in a good mood, but really just leave it on.

I know I'm a little late, but it's a bad day when u take your 1 year old on the tilt a whirl and she is laughing like crazy and u are like I'm going to pile make it stop, then u get off and throw up all over. Yes that was my day today. Never again!!! I was out for the count at the amusement park for at least an hour lol

I was showering with DS (or I was showering while he played with toys) and when he stood up, I saw that he had pooped- BIG TIME. I called for DH to help, but when he saw the poop, he just thrust a plastic bag at me to get it with. So I went to scoop it out, but with my pregnancy nausea/natural being grossed out by getting soggy poop, I just lost it and barfed all over poor DS's head and back.

He didn't even notice and I just washed him off again. Errrg.

No worries- I think of it as a funny story... now. :P
