Finnish Maternity Boxes

So I was browsing the internetz and had read at some point that in Finland all new/expectant mothers received boxes from the government before their babies arrived with some supplies.  I found today where an American who lives in Finland had recently received her box and posted pictures of it and what she got inside.  I thought some of you ladies may be interested in seeing what they got as well. I really just think it's super neat that the government does this, especially when I read that the box itself has a mattress bottom and can be used as the baby's first bed.

    And of course here in the US someone has found a way to capitalize on this idea... if anyone is interested, there is a company here that sells the finnish-style boxes!

    I've seen these (the Finnish boxes) on Pintrest. So neat! And love the idea of a "one for one" in the Americanized ones.

    The Baby Box Co. now offers this amazing concept to moms internationally. You no longer have to live in Finland to enjoy these wonderful boxes! Also The Baby Box Co. does more than just a "One for One" donation model (which has thus far benefited moms at Room to Grow, Elizabeth House, and more). They also support Children's International with 10% of their retail sales and are launching specific boxes to raise funds for Every Mother Counts and MOD in October and November respectively.
