Can I take the baby to MY dr's appt?

Is that cool, or do they, like, frown on it for some reason? Just a regular checkup, no lady business involved. IDK if that matters.

  • Ok, cool. It's a family practice, so I figured it would be NBD, but I didn't want to show up there like a jackass and have them be like, why is your baby here?

  • I take DS with me to the gyno and to regular dr visits. I did take him woth me to my endocrinologist 1 time but that's because they didn't even know I was pregnant so it was like a surprise and all the drs there know me and it was just a big deal. I don't take him with me to special appointments or to any dr where I know it could be a while or I am having a special procedure.
  • I took LO with me to my first PP appointment.  The nurse held him while I was examined and that was that.  Ask the clinic/doctor if it is okay.  I guess some could have policies against children, but I've never witnessed any.

  • I do.  The staff loves it and welcomes them--even if I have my toddler.  And they are always willing to help if I'm otherwise occupied (i.e.--lying on the table with my vag out, lol)
  • I do. We have the same doctor though (no pedis in Canada unless there is an issue that is cause for a specialist).
So even if the appointment is for me he always does a mini checkup on H.
  • All the time. The nurses and receptionist love to play with him.

  • I would to a regular doctor visit. I didn't bring her to a specialist though, since I was having a procedure done though.

My hair dresser invited me to bring along baby for next time! I thought it was nice, but not sure how that'd work out since she's so active.

  • I brought Willa to my last gyn appt, and I see patients all the time that bring their kids with them. NBD IMO.

  • I've taken her to my primary care doctor, OBGYN, urologist and therapist.

If you are concerned, it doesn't hurt to call ahead and ask, but it has never been a hassle when I take the littles with me. As long as it's a regular appointment, I don't think it would be a big deal.
