Margaret Eloise or Margaret Eleanor?

Now that we've met our little girl, we're quite sure she's a Margaret. We like Margaret Eloise and Margaret Eleanor but can't decide between the two.

Her full name would be:
Margaret Eloise McCormick
or
Margaret Eleanor McCormick

Which sounds better? Please reply ASAP - we're being discharged in a few hours and need to choose by then!!

Wow, that's a lot of pressure for a message board!

Are either Eleanor or Eloise in the running to be a first name for future children? I like Eleanor better as a middle name and Eloise as a first name.

I like Eleanor better, personally. Practice what sounds better to you when you're yelling first and middle names because she isn't listening and practice what sounds better to you assuming one day you (or she) will shorten Margaret to Maggie, or something like that.

No future children - got my tubes tied when they did my c-section. Miss Margaret is our 2nd and last baby. Don't sweat it too much - my hubby and I like both names, it's just each of us prefers a different one, so we haven't chosen one over the other, and I'll take any help I can get!

We also have several preferred nicknames for her - we think our 2-year-old son will probably call her by her initials M.E. (Emmy) because he probably can't pronounce any other ones. I like Maisie, and my hubby likes Maggie. So we're definitely indulging our options here.

Neither. I say if you are going to call her a nickname then name her that name. I like all of your nickname options but neither of the actual names. Congratulations on your little one though.
