3lbs in one week!

YIKES!!! I know I haven't been eating differently but holy moly 3lbs in one week! I called the dr and they aren't concerned and I just recently passed my glucose test. Just hope it comes off 3lbs at a time too.

Re: 3lbs in one week!

  • I feel ya I gained 6 in a month . Don't worry if doctor says your ok I'm sure it's a lot of fluid

  • Yeah I've had that happen too. Try not to freak out, completely normal. :-) I did 10 in a month. I'm kind of glad DH hid my scale.

  • The most I've gained is 11 in a month. I'm up 30 pounds at 24 weeks and have been worried the past few appointments. My doctor isn't, and tells me she thinks it is just how my body is during pregnancy. It is sooo hard not to think about it, but I'm sure you're fine, OP!

  • I gained 3lbs from my last appointment until now which was about 3 1/2 weeks. Ok, so a little different, but I wouldn't stress to much about it, especially if your Dr. isn't concerned.

  • Yeah, don't worry too much. I literally still weigh myself every day and it's always different. Today was the first day I saw 180 (after seeing 178 yesterday?). It sounds like a lot I guess but I carry my weight well. I started at 164 and I was "thin" then. I'm just riding the pregnancy train lol. :)
  • I gained 15 in one month, I was underweight before getting preg. The doc didn't believe it and had to weigh me several times.
  • I weighed myself today and realized I have gained 40 pounds already (5 of which have been over the past 2 weeks)...and I'm only at 25 weeks. My docs don't seem concerned, so I'm trying not to be either. I really believe everyone gains differently, but wish I wasn't the one on the high end of the gaining!
  • Same thing for me this week.  It's a no-win situation though.  Last week I weighed EXACTLY the same as the prior week and was starting to wonder if I was eating enough.  Then bam, up three pounds in a week.

I think we/our LO's just go through growth spurts so the weight fluctuates.

  • That happened to me twice in the 2nd trimester - if doctor isn't worried then don't worry. Weight gain fluctuates - 3 lbs this week but then you may go two weeks with only a pound gained. And as some said - it could be water weight, fluid or a big poop that hasn't made its way out of your body. :)

  • I have definitely been gaining about 2 lbs per week the last few weeks! I didn't step on the scale this week because I didn't want to worry about it. I think it depends a lot on whether the baby is having a growth spurt at the moment. And weight naturally fluctuates anyway.

  • Last go around I gained 5 lbs in one week towards the end of the pregnancy.  I was shocked.  Just keep your salt intake down a bit and try not to eat out too much - that food always has tons of sodium.  Salt can make you retain a bunch of water and put on lots of lbs.

Also, just weigh yourself in the AM right when you wake up.  That's the weight I stick with because it makes me feel better.  If I weigh myself at night I am up 3-5 lbs versus the morning.  That is just insane.
