I know we've had this question before, but how many people still use the plastic bucket?

Re: Cpt: plastic bucket

  • We switched to the convertible in May and I just packed the bucket away in the basement this week.

We are still in the bucket. I leave the bucket in the car more often than not. He still is well under height and weight, so we are really in no rush.

  • Still in the bucket with a little room to grow.  I have been shopping for a convertible, just haven't made the plunge yet.  One advantage to having this second baby so close is that they will be able to safely use the same car seat!

  • We switched to the convertible in like March because Fatty McFatfat was breaking my arm in the bucket, lol!
  • @iandloveandyou1‌ we love amazon! Good to hear their customer service is just as amazing!

We just put the convertible in my car this morning. The bucket will still be used in DH car tho until we buy a convertible for his car.
  • Convertible in mine, bucket in DH's until he hits 30" (but we leave it in the car, don't carry him in it). Then another convertible!

  • She outgrew the bucket at 5 months - her head was less than 1 in from the top even though she was technically under the height limit.

Convertible for a few months now.

We didn't switch DS to a convertible until he was 15 months. He was so tiny.
That was Corri too...she was in the bucket until like 15 months and actually still fit into it at 22 months...she was 24lbs at her two year checkup, and I'm pretty sure Gavin is nearly that now, lol!
  • Keep hoping DS1 will grow the 1/2 inch to be tall enough for a booster and we can give DS2 his convertible. DS1 is growing, but not fast enough. We may have to have 2 convertibles for a time.

    Sigh.

  • Finn's bucket is rated to 30 lbs. He weighs 18 now, so he's got time.

  • I'm glad you asked because I have been wondering the same thing. We haven't made the switch yet. I want to but every time I plan to she falls asleep in the car and I remember how convenient it is to take her inside still.

  • I miss the bucket :(
  • Bucket in my car.
    Convertible in DHs truck.
  • We switched to the convertible in the beginning of January. DD looked so uncomfortable and liked the convertible much better.

  • I voted convertible, but we never actually used a bucket, so she's been in the convertible since day 1....

Or I guess day 2 (when we left the hospital). :)

  • LO is still in the bucket. She hasn't met the height or weight requirement yet.
  • I think DD might just squeak under the height limit, and she's well under the weight limit (21lbs at her 12m checkup), but we switched to a convertible in May, since I didn't want to wait and then have to get one quickly if she went through another growth spurt.

  • We switched to convertible back at the end of February. Shes so tall. She seemed so squished in the bucket.

  • Convertible.

We switched in February. Although he had lots of weight room left, he just seemed so squashed in it and I kept pinching his fat neck in the straps, resulting in screaming. No bueno.

He's just much happier in the convertible. Plus he outgrew the height limit two or three months ago.
  • Convertible in my car, bucket in H's and my dad's car.
  • We switched in April. P was just shy of the height limit then and is passed it now.

Me too! I hate having to wake him up every time we get somewhere.

Still in the bucket. We are just below height and ours goes to 30 lbs so he has a few lbs to the limit. He is so heavy but I like that I can take the whole seat with him in it if he falls asleep.

We switched in mid April. There was just no slack left in the straps making it hard to get him in and out. And I'm guessing most will hit height limits before they hit weight limits on the infant seats. Technically my 3 1/2 year old can still for in the infant seat if we went by weight as she's 30 lbs and the seat is rated to 35 lbs.

  • I think we wkl be in the bucket forever. Her feet barely come to the edge. At this rate she might be in it until two.
