Re: ** Bible Study Check-In **
1. Prayer Concerns: I had to go to the doctor yesterday for what felt like minor contractions. Turns out, I was right, but my cervix is still closed and hard. I go for an ultrasound this afternoon to check my cervical length. There was no pattern to them and they were minor blips on the monitor, so my OB said it is likely that it is just some "irritability." Great, I have an angry uterus. Please pray that everything is okay!
2. Praises: My fantastic husband who goes out of his way to make sure I am comfortable and taken care of.

I try to remember that envy and anger only deter my relationship with God. It is important for me to remain cognizant of the positive and find good in all circumstances. I struggle with this quite a bit, as I tend to be a pessimist and worry wart at heart, but I try my best everyday! This verse is a good reminder.

1. Prayer Concerns: My grandfather - I went into detail last week about his health issues and his upcoming surgery. Also, DH and I are prayerfully considering planting our own church, but the logisitics are going to be difficult at best, so prayers for guidance and for the right doors to open up are greatly appreciated.
2. Praises: Strong friendships, late night discussions and air conditioning!!!

To me, this is a reminder to be sure that whatever your plans are, they align perfectly with God's plan and His word. I think sometimes we do what we think is best, but we fail to check it against God's word, and therefore our plans fail and we are left wondering why. Sometimes what we think is best, is actually not the best, and we have only to look to God to help us determine which plan will lead us closer to Him.

Things are great, Bean is 17 weeks today and is as healthy as ever. Strong heartbeat, lots of movement, and everything is good
1. Prayer Concerns: Hubby just got scheduled for shoulder surgery in September, and he's feeling overwhelmed and stressed about it. Prayer for peace, healing, and continued prayer for his salvation.
Also, I've been submitting applications for teaching positions for this coming school year - need God's guidance and provisions!
2. Praises: Besides Bean being healthy and happy, I'm almost done with grad school! Woohoo!

Proverbs 14 is a great chapter about watching how you carry yourself, run your household, and who you choose to have as an influence in your life. It was a great chapter for me this week, as I've been feeling a bit overwhelmed with some of the people who are involved in my life and how they influence me. This was a wonderful reminder that I need to surround myself with women who will have a positive, Godly influence on me. Especially with the verse of the week, I need to remember that I need to be with people who plan good, not evil, so that I can be uplifted to do the same. And of course, sending lots of prayers out this week:
@morethansparrows08 for your grandfather, and for God's guidance in planting a church
@nyg2042 for your angry uterus to calm itself down
@bethelgal42 for Anne's checkup to go well, and for finances (I know that feeling well, girl)
