Pregnant after IF

Success after FET?

Anyone had success after a frozen egg transfer?  We're getting ready to do #4 (and our final try).  Is there anything you did that you think helped you be successful?  My doctor is having me do progesterone in oil injections this time around and I am VERY nervous about this.  TIA!

Re: Success after FET?

  • I am 17w pregnant after transferring 2 frozen embryos. I didn't really do anything special. Just did a lot of praying.

I did PIO for 13 weeks total (2 weeks before, 11 weeks after confirmed pregnancy). Not gonna lie, they aren't fun. I numbed the area first with ice. Alternate sides so the lumps don't get too bad.

    Good luck!

  • I am also 20w pregnant after 2 FETs. I ate the pineapple core.. But not really sure it did anything, but in the same breath I would say that I would do it again. I also did a lot of praying and PIO also. The PIO is not fun but worth every stick if your LO attaches. I'll send t&p's your way. Good luck!

  • Also lurking. I have a 2.5 week old from FET #2. I did pio as well. The only other things I did differently were 24 hrs bed rest then 24 hrs taking it super easy. I also got really anal about eliminating/reducing my exposure to BPA starting about a month before. No idea if any of it made a difference. Good luck!

  • I'm 35w4d with a singleton from an FET with 6 day embryos. FETs, I've heard, can sometimes be even more successful than fresh because unlike fresh, they can focus on your lining as opposed to ovaries and lining all at once. I am a believer in 1 cup of POM every day you are building your lining. I've done three FETs and the one cycle I chose to not do POM, my lining sucked. I hurried and drank it to catch up and in two days it grew a whole bunch. So that's my two cents - do POM while you're building lining. Good luck!

  • 19 weeks here after a FET. I had an endometrial biopsy done per the IVF study I was in, but other than that I really just tried to stay as stress free as possible and watched lots of funny movies. Best of luck!!
  • My only successes have been from FETs, dd was and this one I am 6+ weeks! Still doing PIO shots and u/s tomorrow. I did fertility high protein diet (not really low carb, but significantly lower bc higher protein). PIO is a literal pain in the @$$, but alternate sides, heat afterward, try and not get ethyl oleate- it causes most reactions, pains, and knots. Try to get in sesame, olive or any other natural oil. Best of luck!!!

  • I'm 16W 3D pregnant after a FET. It was our first after previous failed fresh IVFs. I was on PIO injections, and I think they were key to the success, since it is a higher level of support than the suppositories. I was also on baby aspirin as part of my RE's standard FET protocol. Good luck!

  • Yes, we had success with our first FET. We did pre genetic screening of our embryo, so that gave us assurance that there was no chromosomal abnormalities. Many clinics have more success with frozen transfers. My doctor thinks more clinics will be moving to FETs as standard protocol. For My first two IVFs which ended as chemicals, I did two days of bed rest. For my FET the doc said no bed rest, just normal activity. I even took the dog on a walk the day of transfer. Good luck and think positive!!

  • Just wanted to pop in and say that after 1 fresh and 1 frozen transfer this second FET worked for us (I'm 7w1d)! This time I added the pineapple core and did accupuncture, but I'm thinking the PIO was what did it, this was the first time we tried it vs the suppositories. I had a mild allergic reaction to the PIO in sesame but it was definitely worth it (and now that we've seen the heartbeat I was able to switch back). Best of luck to you!!

  • I am pregnant from my third transfer (2nd FET).  I also prayed a great deal and didn't think too much about it.  Previous transfers, I followed all the so-called success tips like, eating warm foods, keeping feet warm, eating pineapple core, bed rest for 48 hours.  This time hubby and I went to the mall and out to lunch after transfer, I rested for a day and got back to life. Not sure if that made the difference, maybe it was just our time. I also continued to think, "third time is a charm" - that gave me lots of hope.  Good luck to you.

Three ectopic preganacies in left tube in 1999, 2003 and 2004. HSG in 2010 concluded left tube blockage. IUI with femara in 2012 BFN. IVF #1 June 2013, 20 retreived, 14 mature, 12 fertilized via ICSI, one transferred, four frozen, BFN.  FET in September 2013 - BFN:( FET #2 April 2014 - BFP!!!!

34 weeks pregnant here after fet #2. We transferred 4 day 3 embies. What we did diff was I ate the pineapple core after transfer. I also was pretty relaxrd during the wait and tried to continue my normal routines. I would say I did much else diff really. We had only transferred blasts prior and this was our first attempt with day 3 embryos.

Also my e2 always started out low so wed add more patches or pills to get it higher..he decided to let me body stay on the "lower" end because he thought the higher was maturing my lining too much. GL!
