I'm tempted to do one of those meetup groups to meet other moms-to-be locally. I just moved and I feel a bit isolated. Anyone have luck with groups like meetup? Any other suggestions?
Meetup.com worked great for me. I had to try a few groups out before I found one that worked for me & my son. Now I'm the president of our local chapter.
We moved to massachusetts a couple of years ago and we used meetup to find kayaking friends in the area. And subsequently the best lakes to kayak at in the area . We met a lot of great people in this group.
But then we joined this couples group (nothing kinky.. Just a dinner group) and omg it was drama city. We left the group after only a few weeks. They were nuts.
If you're looking for another option, Google MOMS Club. It's an international organization with local chapters. I've been involved in our local club for more than 5 years and really enjoy it.
Where are you seeing that OP was banned? I am so not used to this new board set-up yet!
I will have to try Meet-Up. I joined a few Facebook groups but they are all moms who sell stuff (like Mary Kay) trying to sell their stuff. Which was handy to find a Mary Kay woman locally but that's about it. No actual Mom talk or meet-ups.

I’m a modern man, a man for the millennium. Digital and smoke free. A diversified multi-cultural, post-modern deconstruction that is anatomically and ecologically incorrect. I’ve been up linked and downloaded, I’ve been inputted and outsourced, I know the upside of downsizing, I know the downside of upgrading. I’m a high-tech low-life. A cutting edge, state-of-the-art bi-coastal multi-tasker and I can give you a gigabyte in a nanosecond! I’m new wave, but I’m old school and my inner child is outward bound. I’m a hot-wired, heat seeking, warm-hearted cool customer, voice activated and bio-degradable. I interface with my database, my database is in cyberspace, so I’m interactive, I’m hyperactive and from time to time I’m radioactive.
Maybe it was an AE for someone already banned and the bump gods figured it out really fast? Or they set up the account with an email like marketing@meetup.com?
