Cloth Diapering

~*~ Grovia Users ~*~

Hello ladies! My stashed is now converted to all Grovia AI2s. We do have many boosters too! Just wondering if any of you have had any luck using this system with overnight? With our fist daughter we used Best Bottom or a disposable....didn't want to risk having to get up in the middle of the night (she was a good sleeper...but light) And I am trying to find a nighttime routine without having to buy more....or use disposable :) TIA!!

Re: ~*~ Grovia Users ~*~

  • I like all my grovia inserts. Grovia diapers are more for day time, than for night time. The best solution for night time are fitted diapers with any kind of cover. You don't need to many, and it doesn't has to be a spensive fitted.

  • I agree with Zara. My son moves around way too much for inserts and a cover to work well. We went the fitteds and cover route around 6months

    I do love grovia though

I love GroVia AI2s and use them a lot.  LO has spent a couple rare nights in a shell with stay-dry soaker but not on purpose.  Usually when he fell asleep without warning and i didnt want to wake him.  Both times he did fine without any leaks but it was SOAKED by morning (and he's only five months).  I definitely wouldnt count on it as an ON solution.

I'm not much help with a solution.  We've been using sposies overnight for a couple of months and i havn't taken the plunge into cloth yet.

  • Yeah,I wouldn't use grovia at night. We've had decent luck with a double-stuffed BG 4.0 or a Kawaii Goodnight Heavy Wetter. My toddler is a very heavy night wetter, though, so she usually ends up soaked or leaky no matter what we try.

If you don't have a tummy/side sleeper you might be able to get away with using something like a Flip ON in the Grovia covers.  Otherwise I'd definitely go with fitteds or maybe a snappied prefold with a hemp doubler

  • Kawaii Goodnight Heavy Wetters.  I know you said you didn't want more, but they are cheap enough.  I am a huge Grovia/Best Bottoms fan, but like others said, not for overnight.

  • I actually just today put DS in a Grovia AI2 for the first time ever, so I can't speak much to how well the covers hold overnight. However, we use an s'bish bamboo flat trifolded in a cover (Blueberries or BestBottoms) overnight and it works great for us.
