Another stroller/carseat question...I'm sorry!

I'm a STM so I feel sort of dumb asking this question, but can anyone who has used the Britax B safe carseat & B agile stroller tell me if it's worth it? It seems like a huge chunk of change to spend on a travel system (I'm a cheapo) but I haven't found anything cheaper with comparable reviews regarding the lightness and ease of use. The car seat/stroller (Baby Trend) we got for DD was huge and bulky and heavy as crap.

Basically, I just want to know if it truly is worth the $350, or if there is another comparable system for less.

I was looking at that one too but can't bring myself to pay that much. I love the Chicco Neuvo system and have tried it out multiple times at the store, plus have a couple friends who have it and love it. It's cheaper, seems light weight and it's the one I've decided on.

Just another suggestion for you :)

Thank you!! I'll take any suggestions, I'm checking it out now!

  • I don't remember how much it cost, but I love our CityMini stroller.  We had to get a bar for it to make it so you could click an infant car seat on it (making it a "system"), but it's super light and easy to use.  Just one other suggestion.  Those Britax systems look pretty awesome, but I've never used one so I have no input.

  • Like a PP we love our City Mini and also bought the adapter to fit our infant seat.

The thing about the BAgile stroller is that is almost a duplicate for the City Mini just less expensive They actually had a law suit brought against them for patent infringement by City Mini bc it was so close.

I bought it last year for my SIL and she loves it. My nephew is 13 months and still using both stroller and car seat. We just got the Britax travel system for $337 on diapers.com, not much less but every penny helps. They also had 30% off last week, so I'm sure it will come around again.
This. It has amazing reviews. I would go to a store that carries it near you and test it out and see how you like it.

Britax does a free ride event twice a year and the next one is likely in September. You can usually get the car seat for free if you wait for those events. Check out previous events to verify though.

  • First, put it on your registry maybe someone will buy it for you.  Second, if you are thinking of having kids close in age, I recommend the B-Agile as you can convert it to a double stroller.  It was something I never thought about.  No one got me the stroller I wanted so I just got the graco travel system for $125.  Now I am having to purchase a double stroller.

  • We were thinking of the britax b-agile double but what swayed us with going with something else was the britax carseat. Its really heavy. I looked at some reviews on it too and lots of moms said the same thing. So if you're going to be carrying the carseat a lot, probably not the best.

Argh! That is one of my biggest concerns. The infant seat we had with my daughter was heavy even without a baby in it. By month 2-3, I dreaded getting her in and out of the car.

This is our 2nd (and last) child so I'm thinking no one will be buying us anything this expensive. The price is the only thing really holding me back because I reason to myself that if I get a travel system for even $75 less, that's the cost of a new crib mattress we need too. But that being said, with a toddler in tow, I definitely want something easy to use and maneuver.

  • I did tons of research before I got ours, and had a bunch of moms with the B-Agile system rave about it. 2 were family members and I trust their taste. We already have ours, and while the B-Safe isn't exactly light, I didn't find it that different than most other car seats. The few that were significantly lighter didn't seem as safe to me (totally a personal opinion).

I think I posted this already but if you buy the travel system as 1 piece instead of the 2 separate pieces at BBB it's cheaper, and you can use a 20% off coupon on it. Saves a chunk of money at least.

Target is having some sales and i just got info on 20 bucks off 100 or more on baby items:

or Wal Mart had some light weight travel systems under 150.

  • I'm a FTM, but I did not go with the B-Agile travel system because I read that the stroller seat does not fully recline and some kids get angry in it if they cannot sit all the way up.

I ended up doing the B-Safe car seat (I know it's heavy, but I went with it for the safety ratings) along with a snap and go that I will use for the first few months.  I also registered for a City Mini because every mom I know happens to love hers.  They sell an adapter for $20, so I can use my B-Safe car seat with it and make it a travel system.

For me, DH and I just liked the City Mini stroller better than the B-Agile, so that made our decision for us.  Good luck.

  • For me it has been completely worth it! I love my Britax system!
We have the B Safe infant car seat, the B Ready stroller because it turns into a double so we are ready for baby #2 and the Marathon convertible seat.
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE them all! The stroller especially.. has been amazing on any terrain!

  • We have a Britax chaperone and the b-agile that we bought for DD. If you think the b-safe is heavy try picking up the chaperone. We bought it for the safety features but it got really heavy and she was moved to her convertible pretty quickly. Several months after the DD we bought a second stroller because we wanted to keep one in each car and at that time we got the b-ready and the second seat for free during the free ride event.

We have been very happy with both strollers, but we haven't tried the second seat on the b-ready yet. The b-ready is much heavier. The b-agile is very similar to the city mini. If you google the two you should find some comparisons. Ultimately I felt better going with one where I didn't have to buy a separate adaptor.

I have tried it out in the store many, many times, folded it, unhooked the seat, etc and still love it more than any other I've tried. I like that the stroller is more like an umbrella stroller so it's pretty light weight.

I had a big ass Graco thing with DS and hated the stroller so I've done way more research this time. Good luck!

@Nicb13 did you see that Target has the Chicco Nuevo System on sale right now making it like $223 and if you buy in store you save an extra $20 using the $20 off $100 baby purchase? it makes the total $203.99 but I think the sale ends Saturday.
