Trouble TTC

~The Benched Check-in~ July 8th! Very Late/Early? **anyone want to take over??**

Does anyone want to take over the Benched Check-in? With my crazy work shifts lately I barely remember what day of the week it is, plus I've been spending more time over on the Infertility Board since we're most likely moving to IVF! Thanks ladies!!

~ Welcome to "The Bench" ~

A place for those of us who have to delay IF treatments, for whatever reason!
If you've been benched - come on over, have a seat, there's plenty of room!

Newly Benched? Welcome! Here's some questions for you below :)

1. What brings you over to the bench?

2. How long will you be staying with us?

3. How do you feel about being benched?

With us last week? Update us on how you're doing, whether it's IF related or not :) Remember you're one week closer to being off the bench!!

    Good Evening ladies!!

DH's SA got moved. It was supposed to be this coming Saturday, but luckily, it only got moved by 1 day so it will be on Sunday. The way I see it, by this time next week, we should have a pretty good idea if we are going to do IVF. They usually call us within a few days to tell us the results, so I think we'll have an idea before we even have our appointment with the RE on the 25th.

QOTW: in June 2010 there was an F2 tornado in Midland, Ontario. I was working the evening shift in the hospital there and I remember there was sooo much rain and hail. Then the power went out, and none of the instruments in the lab were working because conveniently, they forgot to plug them all back into the emergency power outlet after some repairs a couple of weeks earlier. One of the lab assistants who was off called us to tell us there was just a tornado. Then someone goes over the speakers in the hospital and called a "Code Orange" which is the code for a disaster/mass casualties, and I started panicking because I had never experienced something like that before! We had to call everyone who wasn't working in to help, but luckily, no one was seriously injured.

  • Hope you get good news from the SA, Shellie. :)

I would like to join the benched check-in. I don't feel benched since there is still so much going on this month, but since we have no chance of pregnancy this month I guess that's the definition!

Was blindsided by a cervical dilation procedure, hysteroscopy, and laparoscopy for possible endo...so much for getting the 3 IUIs in this summer. Taking off one or two months.

Being benched is an awesome lesson in letting go, I have to say. But it actually helping me feel less impatient for a baby, because I am reminded how little control we have over any of this process.

  • ((hugs)) to everyone on the bench! Looks like I'm moving on for now. With AF arriving later than usual, I'm able to fit in a CD12 ultrasound after my work trip... which means we might just try one last IUI on femara this cycle!

Honestly I've enjoyed the break and feel so much better about everything! I promised DH he can declare another break for a cycle if I get back on the emotional roller coaster...

  • Benched... AF showed up this week and my first Re appointment isn't until the 17. After lurking here I realized there are test the RE it's going to need to run during or right after AF so I guess I'm benched at least till the 17Th and the RE gives us a plan of attack.
  • @lilmamapanther I'm worried about the same thing. Because our appointment got moved, I'm sure I'll get AF around the 16th, and our appointment is on the 25th :( booo on timing.

  • @SweetieShellieH‌ I'm really hoping there are some tests they can do while I wait for my next AF. I really hate this I was working with one doctor who leaves the practice and they transfer me to another Dr who knows nothing of infertility so now I'm staying over but I guess it's for the best cause this time I'm with an RE but still frustrating...FX your AF holds off till closer tip your appointment... • 1. What brings you over to the bench?
I have a work trip next week, which would be right in the middle of my cycle, then DH is traveling over the following weekend - unfortunately missing our 5 year anniversary, as well! - so I'm benched for at least a few weeks.

    2. How long will you be staying with us?
I'm not sure how long it will be.  I have PCOS, and I'm generally anovulatory without meds,so I don't know when I'll be on track again. :(

    3. How do you feel about being benched?
Fortunately, I have been pretty busy with things that have been good distractions.  I also have to say that more spontaneous sex is much better BD on a schedule! :\">
However, I am anxious to know when we will be back on track, and know that we need to decide if the next cycle is IUI or if we should move onto IVF...

QOTW: What's the coolest/scariest/weirdest/most interesting weather related experience you've had?
One of the weirdest weather events was at my college graduation:  In the morning there was rain, sleet, snow, and light hail - and this was at the end of MAY in NY! In the afternoon, it was bright, sunny, and warm.
