Low Heart Rate - Update in comments

Hi All!

So I just got back from my u/s and I'd normally just post in the conversation there but I was wondering if any of you have had low heart rates that turned out to be fine? Babies measuring in at exactly 7 weeks 1 day and everything looked good except the heart rate was lower, it was 92. The doctor said a normal range is typically 80-180 and if its on the lower end then they have you come in the next week for another u/s. I'm so incredibly nervous because compared to most heart rates it does seem lower.

I don't know the answer, but I'd try to take solace in the fact that it's still early, and it's in the normal range. I'm sorry you have to wait another week for an answer. Keep us posted. I'll be crossing my fingers for you. Come on baby!

My baby's hb was 108 and they said that was low. This was at 5w 6d which is earl.y to get a hb in the first place. I heard a hb so have to be optimistic! No hb would cause worry. Try not to stress

It's so hard not to worry when something isn't completely normal. Just try to keep telling yourself that since it's within the normal range, that means that there are perfectly healthy babies with this heart rate all the time. Try not to worry and best of luck!

This! Although it's low, it looks like it's still in the range that they consider normal.

Hopefully your ultrasound next week will sort it all out.

I remember an early ultrasound with my DS1 where his heartbeat was lower.. I wanna say like 89 or something. Over the course of a couple weeks I also had spotting and low progesterone (9.9). One of the RE doctors told me my pregnancy wasn't viable but OUR doctor said to try to stay positive and it could really go either way and to hope the heart had just started beating and was on it's way up.

It was over New Years and it was SO hard to keep a positive attitude but I really tried... Our DS1 just turned 3.

It's ain't over til it's over! Hopefully babys heart has just started beating or he or she is being super lazy

I had a low heart rate at my six week ultra sound, I just had another one at eight weeks, and it had picked right up! T&P s try not to stress too much while you wait.

When I had an u/s at 6w3d, the nurse practitioner said the hb was really low. A week later at the next u/s it was up to 133! Fx everything stays great!

A good friend of mine had a similar issue. Her baby's heart rate has always been low. The doctors were all gloom and doom and told her that it needed to be over 100, or there was a problem. Needless to say, she switched doctors, and the baby has continued to grow almost perfectly on schedule and STILL has a heart rate that's constantly on the lower end. She's almost 16 weeks.

Prayers for you! I don't understand why every OB is different, my ob was worried about 119 and told me it needs to be 120 or over. They are making me come back also, I'm just praying everything is progressing:)

I had the same heart rate for mine at 6w2d. My doctor hasn't had me go back in for a second ultrasound.

I'm just going to echo what the ladies told me: just wait and try not to worry. The heart rate has to start somewhere and sometimes it takes a little time to get ramped up. It's tough, but as my DH always reminds me: averages and ranges exist for a reason and not everything can be average. I hope any of that either helps or makes some amount of sense.

Baby was 77 at 6 weeks, 4 days. My follow up is tomorrow at 2:30. I'm cautiously optimistic.

You are still in the normal range. My friend's baby had a heartbeat of 85 around 7 weeks and she is now entering the second trimester with a strong heartbeat.

Just got back from my follow up ultrasound. Last week heart was 77, this week heart rate is 150!!!!

I feel sick. It went from 92 to 100. She said it was actually showing 6.5 weeks last week and is showing like a day or twos growth from that. And that it could go either way but it's alive and pumping right now and I need to come back next week. I threw up in the car on the way to work so I had thought I would have better results because my symptoms are strong. I feel so anxious at these crossroads.

I'm sorry that it wasn't a more conclusive answer. I've been thinking of you. Just focus on the fact that the little heart is alive and pumping, just like you said. ((Hugs))
