I feel the need to remind you all to please, please anchor your dressers, bookshelves, and other large furniture. It's such a simple thing to do and it can save your baby's life. Once your LO's start toddling around (if they're not already) they will get into everything and it can be much easier than you think for them to pull a piece of furniture on to themselves. And please do not think that because your child is not a "climber" that it can't happen to you.
There has been a story on our local news about two sisters, ages 2 and 3 who were crushed and killed by a dresser falling on them. They were playing in the bottom drawer and it toppled right over. This story has really been weighing on me. I can't even imagine what those poor parents are going though right now. So please, please, please anchor and secure your furniture.

ETA: I also wanted to add, if you watch the video they show the dresser towards the end. It's not what I would consider a big dresser at at. It's waist height, a normal size for a child's dresser.
Re: PSA: Please anchor your furniture (loss warning, not mine)
Thank you for the reminder! We have this on our to-do list and we're struggling because most of our walls are plaster. UGH. I know there's a way to do it just not sure how.

We keep our iPad in our room so DD#1 can't get to it. But she is determined to get it when she wants, and has opened the door and climbed our dresser to get to the iPad herself. She does this when she knows we are pre-occupied (cooking dinner, changing baby's diaper, etc) and she's very quick when she does it. So I am very grateful the furniture is secure.
