hot weather reminder

Just a little reminder that if you don't have protocol to ensure your toddler/baby/child is not left alone accidentally in a car you should have one.

There is a new campaign out there asking people to put their left shoe in the back seat with your child/children. I always put my cell phone between my sons convertible car seat and the door (furthest point away from me in the car so I absolutely have to get out of the car and physically open the rear passenger door to get it).

What do you do?

It's just so sad to hear the news stories of children dying in cars already this summer. 

And don't forget about your pets too!

    There have been so many of these stories lately. It's so heartbreaking. I always put my pocketbook (and lunch in the mornings) in the back with DD. I never leave my pocketbook in the car, ever, so I always have to open the back door. I'd like to think I could never leave her in the car, but all these stories are really scary.

    Our d/c too calls if he isn't there by 8am, which is 20-30 minutes after his usual drop off.

    We take the stroller instead of driving.  If I forget her in there, there is something seriously wrong with me.  More seriously, I should do the shoe thing when we drive.  Esp with new baby coming...I'm sure that change in routine will have me doing all kinds of forgetful things.
